Vermilion might just surprize. The little people and nobodies are sick of people just making a phone call to Harson for special favors to stick it to who ever they want in court. Guess what? The little people and nobodies vote too. VOTE STUTES Time has come for a fair judicial system in Vermilion. IMO

Hey, if somebody paid off Harson's office to get out of their second DUI and then crossed the centerline four months later leaving your brother dead, you can't blame Harson.
It was all legal. He says so.
Maybe you're talking about that other thing?
not that case but I believe it happened. I saw Harson at a fundraiser for someone else in Lafayette drinking several beers then driving off. He appeared to be impared but not sloppy drunk

Also he prosecuted the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's son on DWI. His name was Mr Newstrom. Mr Newstrom drank a beer six hours before being pulled over. The judge of course found him innocent. Harson tried to make himself look good but it backfired. The video clearly showed Mr. Newstrom wasn't impared. I saw it. Any idiot knows a single beer after six hours is completely out of your system. Do you think Sheriff Newstrom will vote for Harson

Harson has a program called pretrial diversion where a DWI won't show on your record if you do certain things. He charges $750 plus they tell you where to get your interlock system installed and offenders have to attend a few classes. So basically you are paying him $750 to get out of a DWI because people get others to go to the classes and they get a non drinker to trade cars with them for six months and they continue to drink and drive. All he cares about is the $750. So he gives the boys and girls club $15000. Big deal. We all know where the money came from.

i bet this is why he won't debate Stutes

Harson did someone a big favor that would have got his insurance cancelled. and now he has a 4 by 8 sign in his yard. The story behind that is shocking. Money talks.

Its not Harson's program, its a state program. It was created by your state senators and your state representatives and signed by your governor. Its the law, he only enforces the law, he doesn't make the laws, And he doesn't charge 750 bucks, that's what the device cost, you itiot. It sounds like you know how to circumvent the device pretty good, you one of them DWI offenders.

You should be sure that you know what you're talking about before you start calling people idiots.

Article 894 of the Code of Criminal Procedure gives the court the discretion to suspend the sentence imposed on any misdemeanor case and to place the defendant on probation. The Criminal pleads guilty and asks for an 894. The transgression goes on their record, and AFTER the criminal completes the diversion requirements of Article 894, they can ASK the court to expunge the guilty plea from their record.

DA Mike Harson created his very on twist on the law which he calls the "IMMEDIATE 894" plea deal. Harson's personal signature was required on every single IMMEDIATE 894 plea that came to the 15th circuit. The feds say that the immediate 894 sessions were used exclusively for Robert Williamson’s clients.

Only one judge handled all of the Immediate 894 OWI cases: Edward Rubin. The feds used this information as the basis for establishing how at least three people conspired to pull off a major bribery scheme in the 15th Judicial District. Those “immediate 894” sessions were never listed on any public docket. Instead, Judge Rubin would often interrupt his criminal docket and bring the alleged OWI offenders into court. Making this all the more secretive, some of the sessions were conducted in his personal chambers.

This is how it worked: At Haynes’ request, Curry would contact the district judge’s chambers to set up the session, giving the names of the OWI defendants who would be pleading guilty. On the day of the session, private eye Robert Williamson would escort his client to ADA Williams’ office, which is also Curry’s work area, and Williams would explain to the defendant what was about to happen in the session. The OWI defendant would show up with all of the certifications that purportedly confirmed he had completed the necessary requirements, one from SOAR (Smart Options for Addiction Recovery), one from Safety Premiere Training and a third from an entity like Acadiana Outreach or Goodwill Industries. Those documents were filed into the court record at the SAME TIME OF THE GUILTY PLEA (the minutes of the sessions sometimes included a stipulation by the state that the defendant had a blood-alcohol content level below .15g even when his BAC was well above it or he refused the test), and Rubin would sign off, instantly granting the IMMEDIATE 894 motion to dismiss the conviction, which served as an acquittal. The defendant now had a clean slate and would have his driving privileges immediately reinstated

The federal bribery investigation has resulted in the indictment of four employees in Harson's office. So don't be going to Harson asking for your very own Immediate 894.

"We no longer do them" says Harson "but only because the judges have discontinued their involvement,”(Oh I wonder why?)

Poor Harson has run out of lacky's.

lacky: A group of people that cant think for themselves, and have a Boss that does the thinking for them

Oh, I forgot to say that the average cost of entering Harson's IMMEDIATE 894 was between $5,000 to $15,000.

it is $750 plus a few hundred. For MADD and driver improvement plus $150 to install interlock plus.$75 a month for interlock and they make you go to a certain place for the interlock. In all almost $2000. But there is a person in town that can get around the system requirements

Those are court costs.
The only way to get Harson to sign off on an IMMEDIATE 894 is if you went through PI Robert Williamson. I'm sure Williamson charged on top of court costs and he had to give a cut to everyone in Harson's office.

that is true. My friend paid him 2500 and the young entrepreneur went to about 8 hours of classes signed the 80 hours of community service and handled the interlock by putting the car on blocks three times a week and running the motor for a few hours for six months putting 3000 miles on the car. Now the interlock is removed and the car never was driven even a mile. He only takes cash and drugs for payment all tax free and he gets food stamps medical card and disability and pays no taxes
