Every little bit counts, I suppose.

I bet the APD did all of the foot work backing up Toby. And Couvillion takes credit for the prize like the egotistical maniac that he is.

The APD has taken more drugs off the street in the last 8 months than Couvillion has been able to do in eight years.

And we know that most of the drugs are not in Abbeville. Those drugs travel through Couvillion's jurisdiction before they can enter the 'ville.

No, every little bit does not count. When we take down a pound of weed, a half ounce of cocaine, and 50 Lortabs, we use up a lot of state money to house little small time drug dealers. They never catch the man who brings in a bail of marijuana into town. They rarely catch the man who brings in a kilo of cocaine. They never catch the man bringing in 5000 Lortabs. and the small time dealers never lead them to these guys. These four people were caught with very little drugs. yet they will take up a lot of time in the court room. They will cost 10,000.00 per year each to keep in jail. The state will pay for their attorney if they cannot afford one.
All this for 500.00 worth of drugs. Which brings another lie to the table. An ounce of weed is not worth 300.00 All the police trump up the value of their drug busts, to make it look like a big deal.
It's time to turn attention and resources to busting the kilos and bales.

Ahhh, I stand corrected. Good points.

How do you convince a King Pin who want's to roll over that he'll be safe if he does so?

Especially while Couvillion is in office.

Yes, he is and if you know him at all he is a liar and not a reliable person. The picture of him in the paper is very scary. Why didn't he follow in the footsteps of his father and try and make something of himself? Such a wasted life......

OMG you are such a bitch! All because it is a collaborated effort within the task force. You feel the need to try really hard to bash Couvillon. He doesn't take credit for that it is the men that work on the task force who get the credit and a well deserved credit indeed. And yes every little bit counts! These criminals will kill you for an ounce of weed! These men deserve every bit of the credit!

No one ever gets killed for an ounce of weed. Weed is not that good of a drug.

Well that should blow Barry's inheritance seeings how he has to pee clean each month to get his inheritance check as stipulated in Bobby's will.Barry walks around town proclaiming himself as Bobby Charles Guidry's son , if only he would realize Bobby didn't give a diddly squat about him because all Barry ever did was beat up Bobby , steal his money and his medications when he was suffering from cancer. Once a Zero always a Zero.

depends on the type of weed. some california weed goes for as much as 500.00 an ounce and it really does not matter. a drug bust is a drug bust.

I say if they're selling weed to kids, bust 'em.

Before I lived here, I had Tequilla drinkers on one side and dope smokers on the other side. The Quervo couple were always sceaming and fighting...the cops were constantly intervening in their domestic violence. The Stoners on the other side threw some fantastic barbecues and had some really great music playing all of the time.

Drug problems will continue in Vermilion Parish as long as the "big daddy drug lords", who use the water, to bring in the drugs have the law officials in their pockets. The police and sheriff know those big drug lords and continue to look the other way. So what if Vermilion parish children die....As long as the rich get richer, the drug problem will continue and the law officials will continue to turn a blind eye......

You are I know its coming in from the water. Surely they have a clue. It's coming in all sorts of ways. but the fact remains, that they never catch the bale of weed. They never catch the kilo of cocaine. Never. Its coming through here. They guys hauling kilos are dangerous. More dangerous than the little hoodrats in the ghetto. Cops are scared to go after the big timers.
They'll set up shop in a parish like ours. quiet, off the beaten path. Lots of dark water ways. Lots of countryside, where they can come in and not be seen.
They aren't who you think they are. They operate like the dealer in Church point. He lived in a singlewide mobile home on a gravel road. He had been selling kilos for years. He looked quite normal. Simple chevy pickup. No fancy cars. He had over 300,000.00 in the home when he was caught.
Vermilion parish has one like this. He's flying under radar. Probably doesn't even sell to anyone in this parish. All his sales are elsewhere. He tells everyone he is disabled. Lives in a plain simple house. Only has a few cars coming and going. Delivers most of his sales. Could be next door to you. Might be a boat captain. Might be the gate keeper.
This is the man you need to catch. Catch him, and you stop 50 pounds of cocaine a month. catch him, and you stop 200 pounds of weed a month. This bust would mean something.
Little old New Iberia had one flying it in by the ton. Looked like a normal business man.

They pickin on white people again. All the recent arrests in VP are white people. They outnumber the minority arrests this week 8 to 1 .
This means one of two things. Either Mike Couvillion doesn't care what color you are, if you break the law. Or they are pickin on white people again.
