It says that all 5 of her kids went to college...I'm guessing she may have re-fi'd for that years ago.
If she had, Kass would have mentioned it to add luster to her virtues as in, "Lessie Towns needed the money from a second mortgage to insure her children got the education she never had the chance to get". That is a virtue not included and even Kass writes that her kids worked. What did she do with the money--tell me that it went for college education and I'll shed a tear for all the sadness too but Kass is oddly silent on the need for the money and how it was spent. Also, Kass mentions that Mrs. Towns worked her whole life but what did she do? Was she a humble lunch lady, factory worker, CEO? What Kass would have written is, "Mrs. Towns worked for 40 years as a typist for..." That appeals to all us working class-types who did not take out second mortgages but respect a work ethic.
The mortgage company probably was shady but that's why you need a lawyer when you do a re-fi. Maybe it seems harsh but I'm not for bailing people out who don't look out for themselves no matter how mom-ly they are.(Once again, I must ask, why has a 5 year old been placed with a 75 year old woman? In adoption placements the parent is expected to raise the child to adulthood and it seems Mrs. Towns will be a tad old at 96 to congratulate her child on their college graduation)

the term "Brother/Sister" doesn't mean a thing as long as you can RIP someone of something Instead of helping a "Brother/Sister" you take advantage of them (FUBU)

Why is it that we can talk about all the bias and corruptionin Chicago, but hang on every syllable that comes out of a columnist's mouth or pen? Come on, we're smarter than that, aren't we? So let's ask ourselves some hard questions, ok?

Was the lady keeping her mortgage current?
Was she delinquent or in foreclosure?
Did she receive payment for the sale of her home?
Was she ever required to leave the home after sale?
Does she still live in the property?
Has she paid anything towards mortgage or rent?

We don't know the answers to these questions because no one ever asked them or if they did, never included them in their reports. Why? Because it would have blown their big story.

Ask yourselves, is it possible that this property was in foreclosure and instead of waiting for her to be forced to leave her home when the foreclosure was complete, a group purchased her property, paid her and allowed her to rent her property for a lesser amount than her current mortgage payment?

Is it?

You know an attorney is bad news when the other attorneys (ARDC) want to see him caught also. Wouldn't it be illegal for Paul Shelton to start this Freedom Legal legal advice biz if he gets his license taken away?
