Are you aware, we are approaching Saudi Arabia, and could overtake them in leading the world in Oil Production, next year?.....For all those out there, that bitched, when's Obama gonna increase drilling....

At the risk of sounding persnickety, will we be turning this into a drama about documenting our "facts"? If that's the case, I'm going to need you to lead out with the proof. That being said, I am aware that we are trying to out-do everyone on the planet with maximizing our domestic energy output.

Domestic fossil fuels are only a fraction of what we can and are doing to become completely energy independent. The problems arise when we attach too ambitious a timeline to new tech. As well, we need to stop picking apart our energy strategy looking for cost savings. The existing grid is incapable of handling the load that wind and solar can generate when we are up to full production. And while T. Boone is well-off, even he can't build it himself...we need a national energy policy that supports the "new energy" sector.

Things of this scope can't happen overnight. That kind of vision would necessarily transcend traditional political thinking which is restricted to terms of office. If we want to succeed, our national vision needs to be a lot longer...like the founding fathers.

Actually, i would like t see us develope a safe and usefull method to use natural gas, for personal transportation....something without fracking to retrieve it, as that will eventually ruin the ground water....I'm not sure if coal is still a poor alternative or not?

Anything that burns is dirty...even if it's not burning. Think about the free-est, most abundant things we have...then task science to harness them and harvest their energy.

Remember what Jesus said:
Goats on the left,
Sheep on the right.
and to Peter,
... if you want to catch fish do it from the right side of the boat.

They did and filled the boat.
Origin of Left & Right...

I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the "right" and Liberals are called the "left".

Then, I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible:

"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left."
Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)

Can't get any simpler than that.

You realize that it's not up to me this time, don't you? There's still the little matter of the electoral college.

Still, the job creators are pretty vocal this time out...

He's a multi-tasker. When talking about his family's fortune or his partners in Bain, anything to maximize profit is fair game. When talking about being the leader of the free-world, he embraces the concept of rebuilding the industrial base we sold offshore throughout the past two decades.

After the election is over, you won't hear another word about it...no matter who wins.

Quote of The Day From Ben Stein:

"Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen."

Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."

Think about it when you vote in November !

Get the asshole out of the White House.

I'm watching this ball game. If you take all the players on both teams, half of them are Mexicans....or "Venezuelans" as they like to be called now a days. It seems like they have an unfair advantage because they can play all year.

You could throw a blue tarp over Comerica Park and extend the season.

It would appear I was at least partly right...somebody will end this in Detroit.

It's over. Not only that, the Hawaiian tsunami turned out to be a dud. Now, I'm pinning all my hope on this so-called "Super-Storm". I have 150 tv channels and the only one of them that isn't a "reality" show...or talking about this election that has been going on for the past 3 years.... is the Weather Channel. Thank God for the Weather Channel. I like the music.

Silver linings are everywhere...you don't even need to look far. Somewhere in that 150 lies your winter salvation via the Outdoors network. Spirit of the Wild shows Ted & Shemane Nugent killin' stuff but it's more than hunting, it's hunting with hot wimmins and automatic weapons. The politics are about 2nd Amendment and stocking the freezer so you hardly ever hear Ted do anything but praise the sacred protein.
