Those strict Chicago gun laws are really working.
If Chicago would enforce gun and illegal drug activities as well as they enforce parking in the city crime would go down.

Man I had a great post that I just deleted...ok in short: cops make arrests. The county elected state's attorney approves charges, county judges set bonds and sentences, and the state decides parole. You have heard enough stories of criminals with tens and hundreds of arrest, still being on the street. Well the arrests often come from the municipal level so the cops are doing their job. Someone else is dropping the ball by not charging them, setting low bonds, and giving weak sentences. Those decisions are not made at the city level, not formally at least.
