Uh, smokey, I think Jahree's comment was pure, unadulterated snark. If not s/he's as much of an "idiot" as you are.

There are many pipes older than 80 years. GLOBAL WARMING is causing the grond to shift which in turn cracks these pipes, old or young.

It all Daley's fault. Except he'll find a scapegoat, like always.

"Towed cars near the collapse have been taken to Montrose Harbor."

...to be dumped in the lake?

It was a water main break. Sheesh. Don't you have better things to do then turn this into a name calling contest or trying to figure out WHO should be blamed? Maybe you should blame this on the people that have running water in their homes. Now there's a thought to argue over. How f'in ridiculous.

Things break! Mistakes happen!
Lucky no one was hurt or injured during th collapse.
I need to know - does the neighborhood have running water yet?

Global warming? It was frigging three below zero on Sunday.

If that is warm, I will leave my car running 24x7 to cause more global warming. ;-)

Apparently the elderly pipes in Chicago don't get a free ride.

Montrose Harbor is the region in which there is a parking lot for the cars to park so the owners can jump on their boats.
It is also not a slum area....it's also not overpriced. You would have to live there to know.
Call 311 if you have questions or needs.

Global warming doens't mean it's warm all the time. It is believed to cause weather extremes. Let's see. 63 degrees one week 15 the next.

no its not a slum and yes it is overpriced long time residents know that so you must be new to the neighbor hood... Just ask the Alderman can you say "eminent domain"? Maybe the rebuilding of the CTA Brown line stop had something to do with it???
