Len Kasper really was rooting for Cubs television partner Bob Brenly to land the managing job with the Milwaukee Brewers . Read more

Selfishly speaking, I'm with Len.
When the time is right, we'll lose Brenly. That's inevitable. But while he's here, he and Kasper provide fans with the best combo Chicago has enjoyed in my lifetime, and this is coming from a guy who grew up with Brickhouse, drank with Harry, enjoyed Hawk's company and his work, will always be a DJ fan and swapped good and bad cigars with Stone.
Enjoy this, fans, while you can. This is special.

I agree with your positive viewpoint; it's refreshing.

I do wish Len and Bob would cut back on the incessant references to their own tastes in current music. Not everyone shares them, and it gets old quickly.

Brewers owners must be smoking something. Brenley's got the resume, it's like the baseball GODS handed them a Manager. I'd hate to see Brenly leave but it would be different if they had passed over him and hired somebody like a Torre, Gardenhair, or Pinnella. Who is this Ken guy any way?

I agree completely on the music references. It gets to be a litle much after a while.

Comment on Dempster. If he wants stay sign a damn contract. If he wants more money say so and leave. At least be honest about it.

I'm a White Sox fan, but I know a good broadcast team when I hear one. Len and Bob are among the finest!

Welcome back Bob. 2008 was a banner year for some of your one liners in the booth.

Maybe Piniella can ride off in to the sunset after this season and Brenley can walk down from the pressbox to the dugout.

I agree with Alan Solomon. Len and Bob are really great broadcasting in the Cubs TV booth together and I hope they'll continue that for a long time. I'd also enjoyed listening to Jack Brickhouse and his partners and Harry/Chip Caray and Steve Stone. But I also agree with A Listener stating that Len and Bob could cut down a little on the music talk. If Bob leaves, maybe Rick Sutcliffe, Mark Grace, or perhaps Fergie Jenkins can replace him.

Ken Macha had a 368-280 record managing Oakland between 2003-2006. That is a .568 winning percentage. Did you sleep through those years?

Macha is a hard-nosed no nonsense guy which is what the Brewers need. Brenly is too easy going and would not have been the right choice.

I love Len & Bob and agree that they might be the best this town has ever seen. I though, unlike a number of posters, enjoy the music references. I'm not the music junkie that they are but it always peaks my interest.

I'm sure someone has picked up on this....When the Phillies won it all this year....The media just seemed to hone in on their long drought since their last World Series Championship in 1980...Gee...1980???...1908??? ...hmmm....Just turn those last two digits around and you'll understand what a real long drought is all about....
