Not even close. Mr. Tonka rarely makes calls. In fact, when she calls me while I'm driving, I do whatever I can to keep it brief. I don't have any desire to carry on conversations in the car unless they are about something I need to know right then. I'd rather listen to my radio.

Because no one made a man-hating comment. That would be a general statement about men in general, or all men. SHe made a negative comment about a specific person who happens to be a man.

So you're a man-hater, then. ;)

That excuse doesn't hold water. It's a cop out to say "well the person just happens to be a man."

Where we see a man who's probably used to talking on the phone a lot (he is a salesman), some people love to yap all day, and he's probably lonely and missing his wife.

But Sheri immediately concludes he's being controlling by demanding he knows what she's up to every minute of every day.

"Controlling" being the first thing she jumps to is what makes it a man-hating comment.

L2: I'd tell my spouse, mainly because this coworker should have known better than to say something to a colleague's wife. How stupid!
L3: I don't care, that "survivor" was out of line and there were other ways to handle the situation.
Completely agree on all three. Thanks for saving me all that typing!

Because men have a monopoly on being controlling? The fact that go right to "man-hater" with no justification further demonstrates your misogyny.

A key to a successful debate is reading comprehension. I justified my man hating comment in the very post you're responding to.

At coffee thi morning one of teh guys told this story. His BIL was a team leader. X was effective but a pain in the butt. There was a team building function with food and drink. BIL went into the john and was standing at teh urnial doing his thing. X came in and starting grouching about all teh other team emember ans said he was going to quit. BIL stands there with his schlong in his hand and looks at X who walks out, clearly somewhat worse the wear. BIL exits the john and finds X eating and drinking. BIL comes up and LOUDLY says , this party is for employees only, get the f* out of here.

Cool.

Tell your wife he is going to quit. Whoever said you shouldn't have someone else's back at your spouse's expense ha it nailed.

Justify: Show or prove to be right or reasonable.

You did not justify. You might have explained, but you my no means justified.

LW1: What Abby said. That would drive me nuts. Too smothering.

LW2: I fail to see how someone two rungs up the ladder leaving will materially affect your husband. He's likely not going to be eligible for that position or have much say in terms of who will take that position. Having said that ... the guy is a door for sharing something like that if he did not want it to get out.

Explaining myself isn't showing or proving I'm right or reasonable?

You're really bad at this Sam. You can just admit you screwed up. Debating you is like fighting a baby. Not much of a challenge.

Nope. An explanation doesn't always provide justification.

A guy hits his wife. Cop asks him why. Guy says because she didn't have dinner ready when he got home. He explained why did he it. Did he justify it? Nope. If you don't get that, you're either stupid or deliberately obtuse. You decide.

Either you are being deliberately obtuse or you really are this stupid. Now you're arguing the semantics of explanation versus justification to defend your reading comprehension fail? Just admit you're too stupid for a reasonable debate and I will back off and not attempt to challenge you ever again. You know, I get bashed for claiming that liberals are idiots with no common sense or logic or reasoning abilities, and you're not doing a very good job of proving me wrong... just sayin...

But he can position himself with a likely successor before it becomes known. Also, even the hint that aperson has inside inforamtion tends to increase their profile in an organization

It's not semantics, it's an actual, meaningful difference. There was nothing about your explanation that was reasonable. Nothing about your explanation justified calling Shari a man-hater.
