Cyclists who even ride in the street are about to get a rude awakening if North Sheridan Road is a regular route. Yes, that is correct, bicycles are completely illegal on North Sheridan Road. Bicycles can not be operated on either the street or the sidewalk on north Sheridan Road. Violators are subject to fines in excess of $200 and yes, even a possible jail term. Bicycles are also illegal within the entire area between North Sheridan Road and Lake Shore Drive. Within that area, bicycles can not be operated anywhere at all. Not on the street, not in the alley, and not on the sidewalk.
