Right-wing anti-government militias are taking up positions along the U.S.– Mexico border in an effort to secure it because the groups feel the government is not able, according to reports.
‘Operations Secure Our Border’ is being led by 37-year-old truck driver Chris Davis, a former Army private who last served in 2001. Davis supported Nevada Rancher Cliven Bundy, and his group is only one of many setting up shop in Texas.
Other groups in the state call themselves ‘Patriots,’‘Oathkeepers’ and ‘Three Percenters,’ according to the San Anotnio Express-News. They are active on social media and use the platforms to organize 'missions' and calls for at last 20,000 more 'troops' to join their efforts.
