It's because obamma is buying up all the ammo, so there is none for the citizens to defend themselves with when he comes to take our weapons.
Dont believe me? Google it!

I already know this.
The DHS bought 1.6 BILLION rounds.
Yes, some is gun owners (like Red said--especially after BO got a 2nd term), but the gov't is stockpiling.
I heard in my gun club that near the end of summer (probably around now) they will be caught up and ammo will be found again.
I found it at my local range but it was like $30 for a box of 50 (.357 and .38), which is ridiculous!

I HATE door flyers. Seriously, I fly into a rage when I see one. I live in a gated community with a posted "no soliciting" sign, so they have to lie in wait for someone to open the gate and sneak in.
I want to gather them all and take them to the store with the statute copied.....grrr.....

The only guys who should find a woman being cautious problematic are those who a) are not nice guys and are looking for someone they can quickly take advantage of or b) are just looking for a quick hook up and don't wanna go through any sort of courtship period to prove their intentions are good and that they will treat her right.

When it comes to women in my life, including my sis, I'd prefer they err a bit on the side of caution, because you just can't be sure of a strangers intentions. If a guy isn't willing to spend a handful of dates building trust, good for the woman for having enough self confidence to kick him to the curb.
True (I missed this post the first time around and had to go back to see context).
I just denied a 2nd date picking me up for this very reason. He understood completely. No one will rush my comfort level. I hate riding with people period but a man I've known 2 hours of my life? Please.

At first people were saying it was the government preparing for civil unrest. I guess now people want to say they're doing it to keep bullets away from citizens.

Unless you have moved, you used to have neighbors who drove a ghetto sled as I recall, which suggests that some neighbors might need spare cash. I raise the possibility that someone in your development, not even necessarily a kid, is distributing them.It is irritating to you, but sounds like the equivalent of collecting coke bottles to get the deposit money which is what my friends and I did circa 1958.

It goes to follow, then, that in a store where the management does not hold that viewpoint it would be different.
Yeah, that is what I meant -- that it comes from the top and goes down.

When I was a kid, we used to collect pop bottles (a bit past 1958), get the cash (about 10 or 16 cents) and then buy cookies from the bakery.

All the explanations came from the very people buying the bullets...Yeah, I guess they would not lie, why would they?

Yeah but she was in church and apparently he knew she was in church at that time so he picked a lousy time to call.
Wow. I seem to have missed quite a busy day. Just catching up and this is the thing that stuck out to me the most I as was reading thru edogg disregarding a woman's need to be cautious.

This seems like some high maintenance BS to me. Maybe in 1978, before everyone and their mother had voice mail, it would be more of an issue to take into account whether the other person would be available when you call. But in 2013 that is a non-issue. If I have a call to make, I don't give on second's thought as to whether or not the other person might be busy. I assume if my call comes at a convenient time, the other person will answer and if it is inconvenient, they will not and I will leave a message for them to call me back when it is convenient to them.

This guy supposedly KNEW she was in church so he should have called later when it was more convenient to her? Perhaps later was not convenient to him and therefore instead of pushing the call off even further, he called and left a message? If someone I was trying to date took offense to that, I'd happily lose her number.

Multiple times while buying cars they sales people would talk only to my husband, even after HE told them "talk to her, it's her money." Irritating as hell.
I was about 21 and went to a dealer with a female friend who was probably about 28 at the time. She was looking for a car. I did not even have a job, and probably looked the part. Sales people were completely ignoring her/us. Finally, she was like f this. And we headed to her car to leave. And of course they came screaming, "Hold on SIR!" She did not even give them the benefit of turning around. We just got in the car and left.

Funny thing is, last time I was at a dealer, my wife was dropping her car off at the service entrance. I was headed to the from by the showroom just to look while I waited for her. Sales guy politely asked me to go thru the service entrance because he would lose his spot in line if I went thru the front. Guess they did not have that rule in effect when I was there with my friend.

It shouldn't? It's certainly not a universal rule, but I think its safe to say that a young male is likely to know more about electronics than his mother. I don't know how old you or your son are, but I do get the impression that you are older than me(41) and I can say with certainty, I don't personally know any women older than me that have much knowledge about electronics(other than my former boss, but she was in IT).

She tried repeatedly to ask for help, get someone's attention, short of walking around the display counter to get the strings herself. Every single salesboy looked at her like she had three heads or leprosy or was speaking in a foreign language. She was not going to get help that day in that store no matter what she did.
It's very hard to be aggressive with a salesperson who does not acknowledge your existence.
I think what sub is saying is that you don't let them ignore you. Trying to get their attention is not enough. If you see them offering help to someone who was clearly after you, you speak up and say "Excuse me, but I was next!"

Lose what spot in what line? Do they line up like Taxi's?
Either way, I would have just said I was only waiting for my wife and NO, I would not use another entrance.

And yes, we have a no solicitors sign.

Why does it make sense? Women don't buy things?
I think women have more buying power then men in this country.
My wife does the vast majority of shopping for our family ... probably 95%. I'd say that is pretty normal for most married couples, i.e. that the woman is the one who does most of the shopping.
But the places that have been cited as examples: hardware, electronics, guitar shop.
I don't think its a stretch to think that those purchases are predominantly made by males

Chicago (and maybe elsewhere) has a chain of music stores called Guitar Center. There used to be one in the very trendy area of Clark & Belmont and I went there with a girlfriend to get some guitar strings for her buddy. We stood at the counter for a good 10 minutes, watching salesboys rush around helping other while they just stared at us. Eventually my friend slammed her hands down on the counter and shouted "I guess you have to have a pen!s to get any service around here!" and walked out of the store.
20 years later, it hasn't changed much. Even Dickie hates to shop there; we call it Scum Center.
They are like that here too. They lost a big bunch of money for ignoring me.
