Dude if I was going to buy a grill, I would only get one of those massive "manly" ones that has all the bells and whistles.

Heh.*I* am the only one (female or male) in my family who can start an actual fire, grill, camp fire, wood stove, fire place, etc. Apparently I have "the touch."

They are, but I have a thing to write and I need a nap so I'm going to have to get back to them later.

A woman buying hardware? Noooooo. Shocking. The only hardware women should have is a pie tin. What's WRONG with you?:D
LOL!

My very good friend bought me a toolkit that I absolutely love! It is lavender and in a butterfly shape! Fabulous marketing idea, IMHO. Someone gets it.

<quoted text>It shouldn't? It's certainly not a universal rule, but I think its safe to say that a young male is likely to know more about electronics than his mother. I don't know how old you or your son are, but I do get the impression that you are older than me(41) and I can say with certainty, I don't personally know any women older than me that have much knowledge about electronics(other than my former boss, but she was in IT).
I grew up in the Silicon Valley, studied electronics technology and computer programming in college, and have been working in high-tech companies whose names you would easily recognize for my entire career.

Seriously, I had to teach my husband how to use a (gas) grill when we first got together.

And he still can't figure out how to get a charcoal grill going. I've been able to start and cook over a charcoal grill since I was about 8.

Well of course you would. That way when you set the place on fire, you can use the bell and whistle to call a man to come save you.

You don't want to use water on a grease fire! And most grill fires involve grease/fat.

Okay -- this was fun reading.

What drives me CRAZY is people taking my tools. I'm constantly hunting for my screw drivers, hammer (rubber mallet and various hammers I have), duct tape (that's a tool -- you have to agree), wrenches, hex keys, etc.

And I put them back where they belong after I've used them. I might have to get a tool box that locks.
