LW2 - I call BS on this one. I am in my mid-40s. I dated in the 80s and 90s. A guy like you are describing would have struck me as old-fashioned and maybe even a bit of a male chauvinist (depending on the amount of his insistence that it would be he who should open doors and pick up the check at a restaurant) when I was 18. I wonder if you have always expected to be treated as damsel in distress in the need of saving and wooing.

Btw, why are you divorced?

LW3 - Okay, time to ban anything by Nathaniel Hawthorn and re-write the Grimm Brothers' stories and the Wizard of Oz.

That only proves I must be right. Do Wiccans, or do they not, engage in "witchcraft?"

L1: If that's a type of discussion you'd normally have with your sister, have it. I never had that type of discussion with any sister of mine. She might be stronger than you think.

L2: This woman is not living in the same world we do.

L3: Okay. I don't have a problem with someone having their own belief system. It would be a dull world if we were all the same.

A local radio station reported that today. Sort of. They didn't read a whole article, just followed some short blurb off the news feed, so they reported this as, men in africa are getting their penises chopped off and stolen, and the thieves are executed on the spot by cops.

I don't know that Wiccans practice "witchcraft." It's my understanding that theirs is a religion more about respecting, loving, and honoring the planet that gives us so much.

I'm reading about wicca on wiki and I find that I don't know much about it at all! I must be confusing wicca with some other pagan sort of religion.

Eh. I stopped reading the wiki entry when they used the word "whilst," which is a sign that the author is a self-important blowhard.

You're an ill-informed douchebag.

"Witchcraft" in their context is akin to a prayer. There are not and never have been witches as depicted by literature, myth, legend, or the church. There are no supernatural powers in that regard. These (historic)people who were accused of being witches were systematically persecuted, tortured, deprived of liberty, had their property stolen, etc., etc., etc., and thousands were murdered all in the name of religion and superstition.

Maybe you could you know educate yourself just a LITTLE bit before you go spouting off...oh wait, forgot who I was talking to for a minute. Never mind. Carry on you ignoramus.

I'm done.

Pretty much. They are theists, but they have different pantheons depending on the particular path they follow. Yeah, I've spent some time with them...more than I should have. There is nothing like Wizard of Oz or Hansel and Gretel or Halloween-ish kind of stuff about them...as a rule, individual mileage may vary.

If the author is a Wiccan there is a reasonable chance he/she is a Renaissance Fair performer and maybe he/she just can't turn it off. What dost thou think?
