Anyone can claim "the drug made me do it". The fact is Hans Peterson RAN and has done everything he can to escape taking responsibility. He murdered someone. He said the drugs made him impotent not psychotic. Who is he (and his father) kidding?

Every MD's desk has on it a PDR. Accutane is in it revealing 9 pages of fine print of serious side effects. Cornbleet couldn't be bothered consulting his PDR before prescribing this drug to Hans?

Hans Peterson is the victim in this case. He is the victim of serious malpractice, Cornbleet prescribed a drug for him that caused an extreme form of psychosis. Don't let our doctors off the hook, you may be the next victim.

IF the father knew the son had acne, why didn't he recommend a dermatologist?
If the father was aware of his son's psychosis what did this concerned father do? Apparently not much. He didn't watch his son much as they lived on different coasts of the continent.
Also, Hans sure kept his planning skills in tact as he allegedly suffered from psychosis; he allegedly traveled to Chicago and amassed the "tools" necessary to commit murder, studied the security of the building and killed a man.
PS If Hans had acne what did his father suggest he do about it? And what did the Father/Doctor recommend for this 20 somethings impotence
IT would be hard to have a son accused of murder; but the father concerns and comments seem to be too little too late.

The Accutane forum is full of people posting about psychiatric problems they have had on Accutane. Many claim suicide attempts that were caused by the Accutane. Dangerous drug.

Accutane does not cause impotence - period. The rate of depression of people taking accutane is the same as the rate of depression of people taking antibiotics. Look it up. If this information bothers you then I suggest you never take an antibiotic for the rest of your life - which will be very short without the help of medicine.

Don't be ignorant, you absolutely don't know what you're talking about. Anyone who says accutane is incapable of causing depression is just plain wrong. It can also cause impotence and a lifetime worth of other problems, trust me.

Every prescription medication has documentation of side effects, and a vanity medication like this was not necessary to sustain life. Most impotence is temporary, but it's obvious junior had help avoiding the consequences of his actions, both before and after the crime. His Dad has serious problems if he rationalizes the murder of a peer because of his son's vanity. May he accept responsibility for his part in this on-going crime, and perhaps he should start to be a parent (as in the verb parenting) and demonstrate some leadership by accepting his responsibility for all this too.

If Mr. Peterson's father is a physician doesn't he have the same PDR available to him? I know that when I have a prescription filled I am provided with an info sheet explaining side effects, contraindications, etc. It is our choice to take medication. It is our choice to take the risk of side effects. And whatever the case, it is not our right to take another life. Justice is to be sought in the right way. Physicians are making highly educated guesses on how to treat their patients, they are not GOD. I feel terrible for the Cornbleet family and believe that the French Government has done a great injustice here. If we believe in justice we must believe that if Hans Peterson were not guilty by reason of psychosis or temporary insanity a judge and jury would see that. Who protected Dr. Cornbleet's right to life and pursuit of happiness? Hans Peterson took that right away from him and his family and he should be punished as a jury of HIS peers sees fit.

i did a little research on Hans Peterson and there is one fact that i would like everyone to know. Hans peterson took the drug Accutane for a total of 2 days. He murdered Dr. CornBleet 4 1/2 years later. Do the math people.... the drug didnt make him do anything.

I find the reaction of Hans' father extremely bizarre. He knew of his son's problems and allowed him to live unmonitored thousands of miles away. He is also responsible for prescribing psychiatric meds without ensuring patient follow up. I would like to see him (Dr Peterson) held financially responsible for the death of this doctor.

I guess what the father is saying is...we can kill whoever does us wrong and not be punished because we are all victims...oh my god i am so glad i live where i do and do not rely on people like Dr. Peterson for any kind of educated information. Does this man honestly believe what he said on t.v that 2 days of a drug that i know 4 different people who were on long term and never killed anyone..was justified in killing..man what is this world comming to..when will people like Mr. Peterson take responsability for the actions of his son..the son murdered a doctor..long after the fact..if he was having problems and was aware as a Dr. the father should have sought out help for this child he supposedly cares so much for instead of letting him wander the world aimlessly with no responsability..and justifying murder just to find maybe one redeeming quality in an otherwise useless person..

After hearing the father's comments, it is no wonder his son acted as he did. The father shows no compassion and a severe lack of understanding of moral responsibility. He dares to try to excuse his son's actions based on some lame "the drug made me do it" alibi. SHAME on the father!!!!!!! And shame on the French Government for not sending Hans back immediatley.

Hans Peterson was a disturb individual who's actions are disgusting. Even worse was his father's justification of his actions. Obviously, nurture was the culprit in his son's mental illness and not nature. To think that a physician, knowing that his son had a mental illness, would treat it (by writing his son's prescriptions for SSRIs). Also being aware that SSRIs have been associated with violent behavior and should be monitored by a psychiatrist. Then justify the actions of a murderer and blame it on an FDA approved medication that has helped millions. His actions have violated the AMA practice act and Dr. Thomas Peterson's license should be revoked. He should also be aware that his actions may have lead to his son's psychotic demise. Dr. Peterson is the real murderer here. God help his patients.

Thomas Peterson should be sued for malpractice. He prescribed anti-depressant medication for his son knowing full well he was not seeking psychiatric care. He is partly responsible for the death of Dr. Cornbleet. He is a low-life fool who can't handle the fact that he raised a low-life so he blames a drug company.

Clearly the reason Hans Peterson has turned into a murderer is because Thomas Peterson never taught his son to be accountable for his own actions. It is clear his son was struggling before he committed a murder. Thomas Peterson doesn't even have the decency to be apologetic. Instead, he wants to continue to abuse the same family his own son has injured so much.

I cannot see how Hans Peterson's father can call himself a father or a Dr.
I hold him responsible for what happened. He wrote a Rx knowing that his son was not getting help, he should have went to NYC to see him. His son was nuts and he did fall from a even nuttier tree. If you live where this father practices beware!!!!!!

Anyone who's done any serious research on Accutane, knows that it definitely CAN cause severe mental disturbances in SOME people. Many drugs, especially antidepressants, which I heard that Hans took after his Accutane experience, can also cause very out-of-character, even violent and suicidal behaviors. I heard the Hans was on Zoloft. Do a search on Zoloft and violence or SSRI induced violence. You'll find a raft of information. Some people are just very sensitive to these powerful drugs and anyone who dismisses the connection is voicing and uneducated opinion. After our own family tragedy 9 years ago, I began researching intensely, how drugs, especially antidepressants, can change people so dramatically. Nearly every school and workplace shooter was on one or more psychiatric drugs. Depressed people don't just become mass murderers or slash people up that they don't like. Big drug companies would like us to believe that though. They fight hard and spend millions, to defect blame from their drugs and those who believe their load of malarcky, just help prevent the truth from coming out. Do some research. Educate yourselves before leaving baseless opinions. Be glad that you haven't experience a similar tragedy.
