Is this even news anymore in Chicago? A few blacks die everyday in Englewood at the hands of other blacks, but it's the white man keeping them down.......
I knew the deceased since he was born and have been close friends with his father and grandparents for over 30-years. Not once during his upbringing as a child, teen to adult has color ever been mentioned or interfered with our relationship. He was as much a part of my family as I was to his. So, since I have earned the respect of the man and his family, I can assure you that outdated political views have no place in this tragedy. Simply pray for his family and help those who may need your support moving forward, not backward.

I have no doubt that good people do die in this area all the time....But at the hands of other blacks. The white person holding them back or discriminating against them is far less a problem than they themselves. They are killing each other, not us. You ask for people to care and move forward...That's crap. The people themselves need to care about themselves and their children, and when they start doing something on their own in these areas, like work with police and elected officials to get the drugs houses and gangs out, I will start caring then.

I was just asking if he was gay because gays were getting murdered. I have a gay brother, nothing against gays here. I love people; all people! I am sure that he was a wonderful man.
Obama is bi-sexual among a lot of things.

Simple "Joe": It all comes down to socioeconomic status. I'm black and and I'm a law student. I live in a good part of a good suburb, and thats why I don't get shot, my friends who are black don't get shot, etc. Also thanks to my good upbringing and education, I see that gang life isn't a good thing. People who were never taught this end up shot or in jail.
As to why there are more crimes in "black" areas than "white" areas, I think the hundred of years of slavery, discrimination, and systematic exclusion from good jobs and education have something to do with it. There are some black people who, due to their higher than average intelligence and determination, have managed to overcome this, but your average person, be they black or white, doesn't seem able to. And since it is mainly black people who start out with this lack of opportunity and lack of good role models, we end up with these disproportionate crime stats.
Oh Gog the hundreds years of slavery excuse rearing its ugly head again..tell you what ..in this day and age with every white corporation so afraid of even the hint of a discrimination lawsuit..now is the best time in history for a minority to not only obtain a very good job but advance in it as well. The catch is you actually have to work at it ..what does hundreds of years of slavery have to do with a person not finishing high school..the first step in the able to get a job process?? bottom line is they have no regard for human life no work ethic and are just too damn lazy to do anything about the poor situation that the white devil has inflicted upon them. Bunch of murdering punk thug gangbangers worshipping the rap lifestyle rather than accomplish anything except downing their next 40 oz olde english. Give me a friggin break.

But it's easier to keep blaming the white man for all their problems. My family all the way back in history to the 1700's in this country NEVER owned a slave. We fought in the Civil war and every war since that this country has been involved in. Blacks are not going to change until THEY decide to or until the Government stops with the handouts, whichever comes first.

It makes me want to puke every time I hear on the news about stuff like this, or read it in the paper. But dammit.... STOP using the slavery excuse. Some of you have been conditioned by the likes of people like Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, and now Wright and Pfleger. 145+ years and 6-7 generations removed, this excuse no longer cuts it.

Well I hate the fact that they talkin bout Daniel like he deserved this or something. It took a while to find a blog with actual ppl commenting on this article. Daniel Dupree was a very good man. Not just to me but to everyone who knew him. For all u silly people who dont believe Englewood had a homocide believe it. I just had to comment because I cant believe that people would try to judge a person who they dont even know thats not with us anymore. I saw the is he gay comment and i took offense just like everyone who knew him should. I still think about him everyday. And he will truley be missed.I love u Pooh.
