Just another play by the NEA losers to drag more
money out of a failing system.

Teachers are overpaid for the most paid, the most
protected incompetents in the land and of course
whining babies for the most part.

Get a life Teachers - don't you realize that the
unfunded liabilities of your state pension plans
etc are going down the tubes in part because of
your silly games.

I love the teacher argument - throw more money at the problem and it will go away.

Strike - we have replacement refs - we will just
get replacement teachers - sure there are plenty
that would love a job.

All of it and they don't care as long as your taxes are paying. The PSEA hands money to both parties in the overblown and crooked Pa legislature. The legislature doesn't care either, they are all part of the same taxpayer paid pension plan and will take your home for back taxes. We have doubled this year in concealed weapon carry. Once you have a carry permit it's for as many as you can hump.

What is Obama so likeable to you?
Is that his coolness, smiles, look,OR appearance OR/and what else?
We don't see it as the same way as you people do though. We don't see any coolness or smiling personality of any appeal from him.
We don't see that there is anything of Obama which can be likeable, including his communication and personality.
So we're different then--and so be it, including feeling we are mutually unlikely having common to each other!

UnionCrats run Chicago. Give the Unions everything they demand. Their dues paid for your political campaigns. The voters were stupid enough to ignore the Union warning label on the City politicians so they deserve to get screwed. This is standard Blue State Union extortion. Pay up Suckers or your kids will pay the price.

Just don't forget that while the teachers are yelling for more pay and better benefits they are upset that they might be ask to agree to evalutations to see if they even deserve a job as a teacher. YEAH PAY US MORE, GIVE US MORE, BUT DON'T MAKE US PROVE WE'RE WORTH IT AND DOING OUR JOB!!!! But as they usually say....it's all for the kids.

Yet another reason parent's should be allowed to take the money that is paid to the school for their child and take their child somewhere they will get a better education and it's not just about greedy lazy teachers. FTR....all the children in charter schools in Chicago are STILL being educated and the teachers have no problem being held accountable or being evalutated, in fact they expect it!

Both Breakfast and Lunch will be served. Any urban area which is controlled by the Devils Partnership between Unions and Democrats is doomed to fail and eventually declare Municipal Bankruptcy.

In the pathetic remains of LA, the teachers are the highest paid in America, the LA drop out rate hovers around 60% and the State quality of public ed has plummeted to 47th in the Nation.

Who runs LA? DNC Convention Chair Antonio Villagairosa and a cabal of bought and paid for Union hacks who pose as Democrats at election time.

Parent elect the Union funding operatives knowing it will come at the direct expense of their children's future hopes and dreams.

35-40+ kids per class.....THAT IS THE PROBLEM. Also years ago when we led the world in education you had a district super and he had a secritary. Then each school had a principal. Today there is s super and vice super and they both have a fleet of secritaries and there is a principal and vice principal and they have fleet of secritaries Oh and most principals make twice what a teacher does. They use that high wage in school average of wages.............LIKE MOST BUSINESSES WE ARE TOP HEAVY AND THE TOP MAKES TO MUCH.

Tax Revolt is the only way to stop the Greedy Unions. We need teachers but not Unions. Greedypeople complaining about a 4% raise each year for four years. All of their other issues are an embarassment. Step up you Elected Officials and say NO. Teachers should get the same treatment as Private sector employees. NOt MORE. I would be embarassed to tell people that I was a Chicago Teacher. They will create their own downfall. USA schools rank 18 in the world and they want a raise???

A raise, better benefits, and best of all NO evaluations!!! For teachers they sure are stupid. Why the hell is it too much to ask to want a teacher to prove they are doing their job? Unions are making themselves more and more transparent with their stupidity. They are some funny dumbshits.

Fire them all and rehire people that want to teach.

Most private school teachers make much less. They would be happy to take the jobs.

Wow ! 176 users are viewing the chicago forum.

A lot better than WFMZ forum where we get 7-12 users dropping in for a peek at what people think of teachers and their unions . My guess it's teachers loooking at how Chicago goes the rest of the country will follow .

All this underfunding has to come to a head instead of kicking it down the road for future generations to pick up the tab. Meanwhile the teachers keep getting paid for striking and your taxes keep coming to support the greed.

Deadfish Rahm will settle before it hurts Obama . Chalk Rahm up as a politician before mayor of one of the largest cities that doesn't give two shits about the taxpayer . He's on the same money wagon as all public emoloyees ? They don't make or produce anything beside bullshit that affects themselves.

That's BS especially in Chicago where a teacher's average pay is $75,000 and the ordinary citizen makes $35,000 and when you factor in where Chicago ranks in reading comp and in graduation rates it's even more proof that Chicago teachers are way over paid for what they do. That might be part of the reason they would rather strike and not teach at all then have to actually be evaluated.
