1: Women sometimes forget that guys have fragile egos, they just hide their insecurities better.
If this is rare for her, he needs to stop looking for excuses to break the marriage. If this is typical of her, she needs to know it and seel help.

2: Too easy to say "whaa" or tell her to get over it, but it's a big slight. I don't think it's the gift, and I doubt LW would write if the other brother got no gift. I would never give 1 sibling a gift and not the other (if I had another). It's rude.
I don't think there's anything wrong with bro saying something casual and very non-confrontational. At least give her a chance to explain or realize her gift was list or something...

I also don't believe any of you, especially women, would be fine with your spouse saying something you found humiliating. I think you'd also be doubly upset if his reactions was to tell you to get thicker skin.
I think it depends on what each person determines to be "humiliating." My boyfriend teases me about what a lousy parking job I do. Someone else might find that "humiliating," but I do not (because he's right).

L2 asked if it's okay for the sister to give a gift to one brother but not the other. But she doesn't mention that her husband's feelings are hurt by this. SHE is offended by the lack of a gift and SHE is taking it personally. If her husband felt the same way, she'd most likely say so.

This seems to me to be about LW and sister-in-law. I have to wonder whether they get along or what.

This also could be a case of someone intending to get a gift, then forgets,a nd then is embarrassed by the time that's passed so they just say eff it.

Send the kids to a friend's for a night, buy a couple good steaks, put on something slinky, gloss up your lips and loosen up your jaw and give him a night of "This should make the ribbing from your co-workers worth it" sex, and if he's still pouty after that, f' him.
He should take her up on her offer and do her right (all about him, not her, sex, tho) and then once he’s done, he should inform her that he has decided she is no longer coming to any work functions of his and if anyone asks where she is at, at such work functions, he will tell them she says inappropriate things that embarrasses him whenever he takes her out – so he has decided she cannot take her out because of her poor manners.

If that got her upset, he should then offer to get her a couple of steaks, go down on her, and give her a night of “this should make me not taking you to any more work functions worth it” sex, and if she’s still pouty after that offer, he should tell her what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, and she shouldn’t expect sex to smooth everything over.

Sex is no substitute for conversation.

This always bugs me. Other than you, I've never heard this saying using "sauce". I know it as what's GOOD for the goose. Has anyone else ever heard this sauce thing? Is it regional? Or is sub just a blithering idiot?

I've read people online using it. I say "what's good for the goose is good for the gander."

You (and me) will go to bed less dumb tonight, my friend!

It looks like sauce is the original expression. It goes back to cooking:

Regional. I've read it as sauce many times.
