Cabrini Green Resident all the CPD did was take some drug pushers off the streets for a few days. Someone will take their place next week. Are you really from Cabrini Green.

True. This doesn't fix the problem. There is now a 3 million dollar a year job to fill... Business 101.. No market for the product.. no successful business... Solve that one!!!

I agree. The city allowed those people to live in one of the nicest parts of the city and they ruined it with their violence and criministic drug culture. That area will be nice again when the remaining projects are finally torn down.

Does anyone remember the incident a few years back with a standoff with police where 4 people barricaded themselves in a van in Cabrini Green. The van belonged to Rondell Freeman, the principal person arrested in this case. 2 officers were fired for arresting him then. By now it should be clear that they were ambushed by a criminal organization with a camcorder. I hope someone in a position to do so makes those 2 whole.

Steve,

I love that word "criministic". Too bad it's not in the dictionary. I think I'm going add it to my vocabulary anyway. It sounds good.

You stupid idiot. There are other option available to these young people of color. I get so sick of fellow African Americans justifying why we break the law. Thank you for perpetuating every stereotype I try to break. How about this..... Instead of selling drugs by the school the youths go inside the school and learn.
I'm far from an idiot, I was born in Cabrini, yet I speak 2 languages, and teaching myself a 3rd. Also, I own a catering company, and in the process of opening a restaurant. But I was on the other side of the fence. I've been a Disciple since I was 10, now I'm 36. Everything I do is legal. But don't be a damn fool and think because you have an education, you are on a path to success. I know too many people with college degrees that can't even get a job at McDonalds. So , if all my business ventures fail, then for me it's back to slangin'. I never forced drugs on anyone, refused to sell to a woman with child or anyone over 18. Also, the drug dealers wouldn't flourish if there was not such a great demand for the product. People have a god given right to use drugs. It's their body, it's their life, and who has the right to tell you what to do with your body? Just because a man makes a law, doesn't make it right. Remember, slavery was legal, but that sh!t wasn't right. So get off your high horse dummy, and be real. They need to legalize all drugs, and just watch things change for the better, just like the end of prohibition.

Wow..you must not be that smart. You claim to be a gang member, a former drug dealer, and by your own words. "return to slingin if necessary". Yet, you have your picture online in your comment profile; for policemen, DEA, FBI, prosecutors, and the like to see. Drugs are not a good thing.

Mr. Bill Cosby

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk:
Why you ain't,
Where you is,
What he drive,
Where he stay,
Where he work,
Who you be...

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English

except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor

with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.

In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.$500 sneakers for what ??

And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2 ??

Where were you when he was 12 ??

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol ??

And where is the father ?? Or who is his father ?

People putting their clothes on backward:
Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something ?

Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up ?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from??

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .

With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands'-- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.'

Dr. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed.D.

WAY TO GO, BILL !!

It's NOT about color...

It's about behavior!!!

PASS THIS ON AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!

Then reach back and help some of these brothers. Email me a list of people you know with college degrees and cant find a job. I'll put them in touch with a search firm. However, I do not and will not condon breaking the law. Will you teach stealing and robbing to your children?

Also, the use of drug doesn't just affect the user. It affects their families as well. Plus, do to the additive nature of crack. People will do anything to get high. Woman sells their bodies (spread STDs), men rob and steal (makes for unsafe neighborhoods), and dealers kill (gotta keep the extremely profitable territory).

Why do you think the Greens were so dangerous? Didn't you see?

totally agree with you, all these condos and boutiques in these bad areas is like putting pearls on a swine, they are an eyesore and should be torn down.

I don't care how many luxury high-rise developments are built around what used to be the Cabrini Green housing project. Unless the Mayor starts tearing down what's left of the housing projects, that area is still ghetto and unsafe to walk around in unless it's broad daylight. Even then, what white person would be caught walking along North Hudson & West Chestnut?
