TOugh situation. If they can afford it, I hope they support her best as they can, while still getting other help for their kids.

LW1 - What PEllen and Toj said.

LW2 - No, you are not wrong. Keep yourself and your kid safe!

LW3 - "How do I keep a co-worker from borrowing money from me?" - You stop loaning it to her, you [email protected] And when she tries to tell a cashier to put her purchases on your card, you say NO.

By all means, in this make believe fantasy world of unicorns and rainbows, where everyone holds hands and dances and sings, and money flows freely from every tree, the lw should keep the nanny at full pay no matter how long she's off, and get another nanny in the meantime.

But in reality, this just isn't feasible or fiscally responsible.

Hey, the nanny could be his sister! Or his grandmother from fifty years ago! No, no, no, these people need to do what's best for the nanny! They should keep cancer nanny on the payroll, give her all the time off she needs, and just hire another nanny to fill in for the time being. Then if cancer nanny returns, they'll just have to keep both nannies on payroll because hey, it just isn't right to fire anybody! And if they end up losing their house because of the costs, well, why should THEY have it any better than someone else!? No, for the sake of fairness, everyone should be kept at the same level of misery!
