Unless LW1's daughter goes to a very different school, shouldn't
she be home from school during the summer? And aren't there classes, such as band, Jr ROTC, culinary arts, etc., where the daughter won't have to bother with that PE teacher?
Most schools have a small gym staff which serves all grade levels. So, even if they're out for the summer, the same gym teacher is likely to be her gym teacher in 8th grade.

The first time I could substitute other classes for PE was high school. They've cracked down on that in recent years in Illinois.
