Sorry, but my spell check says your spelling was wrong. I admit I didn't consider that it is another acceptable spelling. It is not the way I spell it, and mine is just as acceptable. So we are both correct on the spelling of judgement.
The whole spelling thing was snark, if I were a serious spelling nazi I'd be forever doing it. I am not.

You said: "How the f do you know that? Did his parents write to you about it?
ALL we know is what the girlfriend wrote..."

I thought it was funny that you thought a post should not have to do with anything outside the parameters of the letter. It wasn't about your POV (unless you want to count the POV that you shouldn't go beyond the parameters of the letter).

It's Friday. I can't take this shyte too seriously nor someone else's problems written in a letter. I don't use spell check either.

I would not get a job, but I would do something. Probably wood working.
I would not hang out at the country club, playing tennis or golf every day and piss on the waitstaff. To me, that is loser.

I might mow the course, just cause I could and tractors are fun.

You're overly concerned with what he does or does not contribute. If his parents feel used, that would be one thing, but if they are happy to provide him a situation where he does not need to contribute, what's the problem?
(Speaking of dead relatives and big inheritances, I just read John Grisham's "The Testament", and that is the big story line. I thought it was a great book. Just read that he wrote it in the late 90's and optioned it to a movie producer in 2009. SO it could be made into a movie soon)

why must your characterization include pissing on waitstaff? The only way to have manners and know how to treat people is by working?

No, just my mental of snobbery I guess.
ok, scratch the snobby attitude, perfectly mannered, but still a loser.

It may be the minds objective to achieve homieo-stasus, but the human spirit is not designed for it. Ya gotta do something with you day besides goof off.

To me, that only holds true if you have to work for a living. If your money situation allows for it, I say goof off to your heart's content.

I would not want to look back on my lifetime and realized I had accomplished absolutely nothing. But if your cool with that, more power to ya. My heart would not be content with a lifetime of goofing off (well, lemme try it first, then I can say with certainty)

Currently, I work because I need the money. Someone has to pay bills.

If I didn't need the money, I would work solely for the personal reward. I would probably change careers because the pay would not matter. Or maybe I wouldn't. I don't know since I'm not in that position today. However, I am absolutely certain I would work.

Whether that would be working for free, for charity or getting a paycheck, I wouldn't be happy with myself unless I was contributing member of society. Maybe that's part of my nature or maybe it was ingrained in me when I was young and is a product of environment. I'm certain, though, that it is a part of my nature now.

I have no urge to give back to contribute to society, only to not be a drain on society. If I won the lotto, inherit a fortune, have rich parents who give me money, or I am an awesome poker player and make my living in vegad casinos, I am not a drain on society, nor am I contributing to it. I find nothing objectionable about any of those avenues.

Looking back on my life, my memories are not about the things I accomplished at work. My memories are of the experiences I've had, the places I've been, the people that have passed thru my life, my wife, my children. My job is nothong more than a mechanism that provides me with the money I need to fund my life.

Just curious, when you go to a party and meet someone new, do you ask what they do for a living? I don't. I could not care less what people do. Tell me what interests you. Tell me about your experiences.

I ask people "What do you LIKE to do?" I like the answers better than when I ask "What do you do for aliving?"

I ask what they do for a living -- that tell you something. THEN I ask what their interests are.

running through before shutting down. He shouldn't have been working anyway, it was just exacerbating the injury.
He's had many days of much less pain these last few weeks.
