you could be right and the chances are even greater that both cars were driven by ILLEGALS..the women that died was ILLEGAL..were the others..did the driver have a license and insurance..are the injured legal..who is paying the medical expenses if the driver had no insurance and is ILLEGAL..

R.I.P. to the victims and my condolences go out to the family.
Indeed. I vote for illegal aliens (of any race) not wanting to get deported after they go to jail for drunk driving!

Who cares if the dead woman was illegal or not. How dare you say such horrible things. No one *Legal or Illegal* deserve to die like that. Only ignorant people like you would say such things. You should thank God that this accident didn't happened to you!

"A swerving car struck the SUV, causing it to roll several times." What happened to the driver of the car? Was it a hit-and-run?

"Police say the SUV's driver and another passenger abandoned the scene." Why? Was he drunk? Did he have a driver's license? Those two idiots left behind a dead woman, a dead child, and three other injured passengers. Was the SUV designed to hold seven people? Some are and some aren't. Were all seven wearing their seatbelts?

It's time to do a role call of Chicago Cops. Of course, since this crash killed Hispanics, the cops would get off anyway.

I am tired of the ILLEGALS and let the facts speak for themselves, if she was in mexico she'd be alive..is the driver legal? insurance? is this another burden to the taxpayer..I have no emotional attachement to her..all I did was respond to the person who said probably some crazy white guy did this..my guess is they are all illegal,no license,no insurance = taxpayers picking up the tab! please correct me if I am wrong

I doubt any Chicago cop would make the trip to Elgin for anything. Also, the Hispanics that were killed in that accident that you are referring to were also drunk, so they couldn't prove WHO was at fault. So unless you yourself was a witness, you should hold your judgement of anyone. Or are you just angry at cops?

I don't like illegals, drunks or white, black or brown trash! I like drunk drivers the least. What happened to the person driving the swerving car? They should be looking for that criminal. There are too many irresponsible drivers on the road. Driving is serious business. Done poorly, it kills.

From what I read - the people hurt and killed were in the SUV and the drivers and another person from the SUV ran. It doesn't say anything about the car that hit the SUV - where are those people??
This story needs a little more clarification.

An Elgin boy and a woman from Mexico were killed late Friday in an I-90 crash in Elgin, state police said.

The driver of the boy's vehicle and a male passenger fled the scene near Route 31, leaving four injured children on the road behind them, police said.

Luis Cabrales, 5, of Elgin, and Maria Guadarrama, 57, of Mexico, were pronounced dead at Sherman Hospital after their 2003 Ford Expedition rolled over several times.

The accident began about 8:45 p.m., when a Lincoln Town Car driven by a Carpentersville man was cut off by a white van in the far left eastbound lane of I-90.

Kevin Cooke said he tried to avoid hitting other cars, and swerved his Lincoln onto the shoulder of the tollway.

The soft dirt surface made the Lincoln slide sideways, Cooke said, and he hit the rear of the Expedition.

Cooke's car "did a complete spin - I ended up in the entrance lane on Route 31 for the tollway," he said.

The Expedition, he said, swerved back and forth, then violently turned sideways and flipped, rolling over several times.

"On the first flip, all the kids flew out of the side window and were on the road," Cooke said.

"There were no car seats -they were just lying on the ground," he said.

The Expedition rolled over several more times before it landed upright.

"I got out of my car and did everything I could to stop traffic, cause those kids were in the middle of the road," Cooke said.

A number of other passers-by, including an off-duty Elgin paramedic, helped the injured, Cooke said.

In the Expedition had been seven occupants, including the two victims, police said. Their names were not released.

Police used dogs to search for the two men who fled but did not find them.

All five people injured in the Expedition were taken to Sherman Hospital, Elgin Fire Chief Tim Maroder said.

Sherman Hospital declined comment Saturday.

The eastbound lanes of I-90 were closed for about two hours, police said.

State police say they are looking for leads, such as the model and plate number of the white van. Police on Saturday afternoon had not yet issued a warrant for the driver of the Expedition.

Probably drunk drivers. Hope they get theirs! Karma will catch them. RIP to the family.

This accident probably would not have occured if the State Police had better tools to regulate the 55 and 65 mph speed laws on Illinois interstate highways. Our "best" have "their hands tied" with "outdated technology" (sitting in a squad pointing a radar) and a society that feels entitled to break our speed laws. The technology is here to make our highways a safe place but our society is unwilling to move in that direction.

The driver and passenger that fled the accident were probably transporting more illegals to the welcoming state of Illinois. Why weren't the kids in car seats or buckled in? Terrible accident that could have been avoided if Chicago and Cook County cracked down on illegal immigration.

Both drivers were not illegal, the person who caused the accident was White, he was a limo driver, who was not paying attention and hit the SUV.

My issue is not whether or not they are legal but with the ignorant people on the highway who felt it was necessary to stop and look at the wreckage. I even saw some people stop to take pictures and others were texting as they snarled traffic to get some personal footage; and for what? So they can say they were there when...?! The fact that those injured people still have a right to privacy is completely overlooked. If I had my way, the helicopters overhead would collect close-ups of the morons snapping pics and texting at the scene and put their pictures on the news with their license plates as well and they would get slapped with a $500.00 fine each! That would curb the gawkers blocks!
