I disagree with the line of thinking that believing marriage is between one man and one woman, who aren't related, makes you "intolerant." But I wouldn't expect you to understand that.
Yes, that is the viewpoint of yours to which people are taking exception. Backtracker!!

Tonka's post #73 above encapsulates the view you have promoted. Gays should stay in the closet. Gays should have less/fewer rights than non-gays.

Believing in traditional marriage is one thing. Wanting to deny rights to others commensurate with that belief is another. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that.

ok, for you little words....
Believing marriage is between one man and one woman = OK!
Mandating that marriage is between one man and one woman NOT OK!
Extrapolating that the above will lead you wanting to marry your goat = Plausible.

How big of you to dictate what people should believe.
I am not trying to dictate what you should believe, I am simply acknowledging what your beliefs constitute. If you don't like the label, then don't fit the description.

2 analagous(look it up) conversations applying edogg logic.

dog: I believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
Sam: you are a christian.

dog: I believe gays should not have the right to marry
Sam: you are a bigot

dog: How big of you to dictate what people should believe.

Both of Sam's statements are observations of your stated beliefs, not directives on what you should believe.

That's dictating what people should believe, lest they be labeled.

So being a bigot is ok, but calling someone a bigot is not. You must have gotten dropped on your head once a day as a child.

You act like being labeled is a punishment. A label is simply a descriptor, nothing more, nothing less. You are more concerned with the label itself than why it applies. Again, the label is simply describing what you already are and what you continue to be.

And might I add that, for someone who labels so easily, you sure are sensitive to being labeled. As often as you label people "beotches" and "wh0res" and "liberals" and such, I would think you'd be a little more understanding of labels.

Believing in the traditional values of marriage is not bigotry.

I don't label anyone. Do you deny you're a liberal? A beotch? A wh0re? Those are adjectives. Not labels. My issue is being labeled a bigot and a homophobe when I am neither. But you and your ilk can't understand that. If I oppose gay marriage, it's because I must be a homophobe. There's no other explanation in your mind. See? You slap a label on someone because you have no valid argument.

Believing that your personal, religious beliefs should restrict marriage rights to two adults based on how they were born IS bigotry.

Interracial marriage used to be illegal in this country, until only 45 years ago. Gay marriage will follow a similar route.

Ahhhh, I get it. When you describe someone it's just adjectives but when someone else describes someone it's labeling. Please explain how you are not a bigot. Please explain your opposition to gay marriage and any other provision that affords gays the same rights as anyone else.

I have thoroughly explained that. I'm not gonna repeat myself over and over like a broken record. In your mind, being a bigot is the only explanation because you can't understand a different viewpoint than yours.
