Weather prediction; Summer will be a chiller for Chicagoland, Frost Belt.

Residents of Chicagoland, as well as in fact the entire American Frost Belt region, can forget about breaking out the tank tops, shorts, bathing suits, and such for the entire year of 2013. The summer of 2013 is predicted to be a chilly one for the entire region. Highs are predicted as no warmer than the middle 70s, even as far south as Chicago. The majority of the summer may even be overcast and gloomy for many regions of the Frost Belt as well.
In fact, recent data even shows that the polar vortex over the North Pole has split in two, allowing pockets of cold air to spill southward. This is likely to mean snow as early as Labor Day for certain areas of the Frost Belt, as well as a bone-chilling winter for the 2013-14 school year.
