So I don't buy into your paranoia about the President. I don't buy the fact that my taxes will change in any fundamental way. I support the Olympics coming here. I appreciate a more mellow foreign policy. I abhor the idea of millions of Americans losing their jobs, and if a temporary takeover of GM and Chrysler means those jobs will be saved, then I will support that unfortunate option. I believe that no matter what problem history presents us with we will solve it.

All and all, I consider myself a good American. I am sure you consider yourself the same.

We simply disagree.

The main difference is that my attitude does not include Armegeddon-like pessimism and defeatism.

Whatever happened to American exceptional-ism?

Dead because we have a Democratic president?

I was just talking to my sister who DOES live in Chicago and was reading her some of the comments.. She would like to know just WHO they are polling in all her years in the city she's NEVER been called for a poll nor does she know anyone who has been..I know when I lived in the city I never had anyone call for any polls either and know of no one who ever got one either..
Since she has a job where she comes in contact with the public all day I suggest she conduct her own poll.. which would be MORE scientific and MORE random than the polls they claim are random and scientific..
So if I understand you correctly, because your sister was never called to take part of the poll, no such poll exists? Well, going by your logic, I have never been asked about obama's job performance,(again following your logic) therefore no poll's must of ever been taken. His job approval rating has been made up, correct?

No because we have a president who is pushing us to socialism which will not work. How are you going to feel if your wife or daughter get breast cancer and have to wait for possibly months for treatment?(They have to wait their turn)

I'm sorry, I am tired of him spending our money and our children's money on stupid things, date night, super bowl party, and just last week a cook out.

No longer does america stand for debate and research, it' what ever our current president wants give it to him.

If you think he took over GM to save jobs, then I think you need some help. More people will lose there jobs, car's are going to become so expensive only well off people will be able to buy them.

Hey, I give him credit, he has doubled our deficit in 6 months and america has gone to hell faster than I could ever imagine.

I wanted changed, but if I would of known this was the change, I wouldn't of voted for him. Thats one mistake I WILL NEVER make again!!

You really have an attention deficit problem!
If most people wanted it, why didn’t they put it on a ballot in Chicago?
Because it wouldn’t pass!
Millinium Park- 450 million over budget
O’Hare Airport- 500 million over budget and we’re only half way through.
Washburne Culinary Institute – 65 million over budget.
The buildings built for the Olympics at 58th & Cottage Grove (One of America’s most dangerous neighborhoods) will end up empty with the taxpayers paying for the heat, vandalism etc.
The people who live on the lakefront don’t want the games or the people trying to get to work everyday on the CTA.
Should I keep going?
Now do you get it?
If Millennium Park is one of your examples of a project over budget, you really have no credibility.

When originally announced at $150 million, Millennium Park was just a basic park--grass, trees, a generic bandshell--on a deck over a railyard. After, private donations brought in major extras such as "The Bean," the fountain with the faces on it, the elaborate bandshell and sound system, etc. That's what boosted the price and much of it was from private donations. An analogy would be if you started building a $150,000 house and then your rich aunt died and left you money allowing you to expand its size and features--it would not be the same project. We did not pay three times as much for what was originally announced, but got three times more than was originally announced, with the bulk privately financed. I hope the rest of your information isn't as faulty.

You are such a liar! Every TV station and newspaper reported that dollar amount. Private money, some of it yes, not all of it. That tells how correct I am, some of the Olympic money is private too. So I guess we can get the same outcome, except this time the over runs will be in the billions.

Then you formulate your opinion based on reasons other than the facts. My account of Millennium Park's history is completely accurate. It is not the poster child for cost overruns, but is a project that greatly expanded in scope (and thus cost) after it was announced. And much of the extra cost was privately donated to bring in "The Bean" and other special attractions. This is fact, not opinion. Ignore the facts at the risk of your own credibility.

You don't think you will be taxed? Think again.. The new energy bill will have drastic increases.. on everything from your electric to the food you eat.. You really don't think these companies will NOT pass on the cost to the consumers do you?? Know where your phone bill has a FCC charge there will be a new charge added called a carbon tax.. it's a trickle down tax.. and where do you think that they are getting the money for their health care bill?? Tax just the rich well that won't work.. they still fall short.. so they will go down the wage chain.. and the middle class will suddenly become the new rich those earning 50K to 100K a year..and the rich, business owners will all be adding the new tax in increased prices for goods.. it's to bad the middle class will not have anywhere or anyone to increase prices on they will be paying them..

I usually have the same attitude on presidents.. I didn't vote for Bush was disappointed he won both times.. I voted for Clinton and was only really upset by his signing I believe was NATFT.. which has proved it hurt the American people
However, it is NOT that this President is a Democrat (notice I tend to vote Democratic in Presidential elections) it's THIS Democratic President.. and it's not because of his color so don't go there.. the Democrats USE to be for the working class.. now they are for the elite...all this spending that the working class will be paying back for generations, the fact that it's not thought out nor have they used common sense to implement their agenda cause everything has to done yesterday the fear mongering, threats is the same as under Bush so let me ask how is this change?

I disagree with you on almost every point, so let's just agree to disagree.

Most of this, on your side and mine, is opinion and conjecture.

Blah Blah, Mr. Daley family member quit trying to twist the truth, everyone knows about his total mismanagement and cost overruns. Like one person said about the Olympics, Walsh Construction and Daley's other contractor friends are licking their chops and praying for the games.

So you don't dispute the facts about Millennium Park or you just don't care about them? That's the issue I raised, not the Olympics, because someone posted wrong info about the Millennium project on this message board. My facts are not "twisted," but your accusations certainly are inaccurate. I still invite anyone to show me how my information was wrong, which you have yet to do, you ignorant nitwit.

Let's make this clear, you are a twisted liar period and don't want to tell the truth because you’re either a family member or one of those high paid city employees at city hall. By the way I haven't received my city sticker that I paid for online over a month ago can you walk over to the clerks office and check on it? I e-mailed them like it said to do if I didn't get it in the mail within 14 working days, their answer was they have gotten to many stickers paid for online. And you want the Olympics here? You're a joke! Just like your ridiculous post on this site.
