Who the heck would drive through a cemetary? If it is flooded, walk or come back later. Those who drove are as much a part of the problem as the people not performing maintenance. Are the stones sinking or toppling from neglect or because they are being driven over?

Why don't the complainers organize some fundraisers/cleanup days. Why is it always someone else's responsibility???
It is the responsibility of the cemetary to keep the grounds clean. That is why families pay $5,000 or more to have loved ones buried.

It's a real shame that these large corporations are buying up funeral homes and cemeteries.They don't seem to give a damn about anything exept the almighty dollar.I only hope that Perpetua Inc. is made to fix these problems so that the people visiting can be assured that thier loved ones are resting in peace.
Perpetua Inc is not a large corporation. 2008 revenues were 4 million dollars and it employs 29 people. Get your facts straight!

What a complete disgrace! Does Alsip not have a Mayor? and if the village board does not entail enforcement powers, how about they vote themselves some?

Completely disrespectful.

Thank you for having the courage to express the facts. People are afraid to acknowledge problems related to race and the permanent underclasses.

How about everything black people touch quickly goes into disrepair? Neighborhoods, schools, the Postal System... everything!!!

Because a company OWNS this property and it is that company's responsibility to provide proper maintainance and upkeep?

Amen to that. I was just at Graceland cemetery on the north side. Would that place ever not be taken meticulous care of? Probably not. Stories like this remind me of Hurricane Katrina all over again.
Blacks disrespected by blacks. Clean it up yourself, but you probably don't understand the concept. Taking responsibility - try it, instead of playing the race card. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

A Teddy Bear face down in the mud. I hear the music to Ira Hayes in the background. That is almost very funny.(so is it slightly funny?)

You've got to be kidding. You apparently have never been to a cemetery. Burr Oak is a fairly large one and people drive through the cemetery on roads that wind through it. Duh.

Hasn't anyone heard of "perpetual care" in your contract? If you have that and the cemetary does not fix the problem, then they are in breach of the contract and you can sue them.

I agree with Too Old. Why would you want to be placed in cold, dark earth? Especially if you don't know how it will attended in the future. Just cremate me and scatter my ashes someplace warm.

@DBB from Dewey IL:

It's interesting that you talk about stereotypes. With that comment, regretfully, you just fulfilled the stereotype about racist-a$$ white people. However, I'm smart enough to realize that YOU don't reflect all of white people in America. If I was white, I'd be VERY HAPPY about that. One thing that is indiscriminate toward race is stupidity and ignorance. You prove that beyond a doubt.
