I suppose if I lived in that county and secretly wanted to visit this store than obviously I would not be able to unless I played dress up in disguise....if parents are worried about childrens questions than perhaps they need to learn to communicate to the young in a sensitive and appropriate manner...sex is not necessarily a bad word, and if it were not for sex than there would be no children.....etc I hope we can all have a good day

Things aren't that uptight here in Chicago my friend, maybe in D.C. but not here

I live in the neighborhood and walk by the store often. I think they have very creative displays that are not offensive and I work at a school. I think they are well done.(Well except that there is no display currently) If you are nervous about sex stores in your neighborhood, dont live in east lakeview. Seriously, what are you thinking?

I have lived in Chicago all my life and despite what the article says the pleasure chest has been a part of that neighborhood for many many years. There is NOTHING wrong with sex shops in your area and I would be willing to bet my right testicle that the majority of the people in the neighborhood approve of the store.

A few gentrified prudes hit the neighborhood who have SAHM's started complaining (they have nannies and maids and to much time on there hands). Since there are no headlines in saying the neighborhood is OK with the store they focused on the few who do not like it and made it seem like everyone agrees with them.

The silent majority suffers as the vocal minority gets there way. Seems to be a trend in this country. Not to mention the basis for a lot of the power of the right wing. Aggravate a conservative today and think for yourself.

Send the conservative congressmen your used tampons, pads and toilet paper. That'll really turn them on, but they'll never tell anyone. They have to keep up appearances, you know.

I would be more concerned about car and property vandalism in Lakeview. The city needs to install surveillance cameras in streets and other public places!!
