Hi tom, the problem with your questions is that most of them are just liberal insults. Not really questions at all.
I am not anti-tomsawyer65. And I would welcome an honest debate with you. I find it interesting that someone would want to be bossed around by a government and pay ever more taxes to it for the privilege. It just doesn't make sense to me unless you have a fear deep down inside you that says you are just incapable of caring for yourself.
I take care of myself. I am fortunate that I have never had to have government assistance. I do not want to pay more taxes. And I certainly don't want to be bossed around. Does that mean I have to hate Obama? I don't hate anyone. I try to see the good in everyone and I look forward to 2012 election. I do research so I can make informed decisions. Our hands are tied at the moment. All the griping and complaining and the hatefulness is not going to change a damn thing.

I want to continue to have a good attitude so I will do what I can do and not worry about the rest, until a time comes when I can participate.

What's our options, Church Slave? I would rather spread joy than pain.

TomSawyer, Great posting and a good way to approach a neutral situation.
Have a good day.

Too Funny! Medicare denied more claims in a one year period (Mar `07 to Mar `08) than all the other private health care insurance companies COMBINED! LOL

I thought Obama and Pelosi`s argument was that Big Evil Private Insurers were 'letting people die'? Too Funny... Big Government is definatly not the answer!

Yep; we're sickend by conservatives and live in a republican-induced hallucination.

"Individuals who choose to go without health insurance are making an economic decision that affects all of us — when people without insurance obtain health care they cannot pay for, those with insurance and taxpayers are often left to pick up the tab." So is that your idea of economic freedom? To burden your fellow taxpayers with your medical bills?

Oh, I see. It's good 'ol American entrepreneurship to take economic advantage of others…like successful crack dealers; right? They’re just entrepreneurs on the street; right?

Lemme get this straight, funny guy.

You don't like big govt. because, among other things, it spends too much money. Yet, when it tries to rein in the costs of a govt program--Medicare--by denying care, you get upset.

Second, Medicare has a proportionally greater utilization rate than individuals with private insurance. You see, folks on Medicare tend to be old, so they have more medical problems and seek medical treatment more often. Consequently, the denial rate is proportionally higher as well.

Third, Medicare, because it's so big, suffers from a lack of oversight. And it's not a big profit-making business. Private insurace, because it's in the business of making money primarly and only incidentially in providing health care, engages in extensive utilization review. What this means is that "questionable" case seldom make it very far in a private insurance setting; whereas in Medicare a questionable case--where service is denied--proceeds further.

Fourth, the health care industry is well aware of this and continually tries to rip off the govt by providing questionable medical services to individuals only to be caught later on.

Speaking of medicine, have I given you a sufficient dose of "Shut Up" medicine?

ObamaCare just died in the Appeals Court today. Now it`s on to the Supreme Court where Obama scolded the juctices at a State of the Union speech and had John Roberts shaking his head and mouthing NO... ObamaCare will die in the Supreme Court 5 - 4. John Roberts has been waiting on ObamaCare for a couple of years. Obama sucks.

I was able to finally go over your Obamacare statement and it is VERY wrong/misleading. Like most right wingers, in this case at least, you either don't know what you are talking about, or worse, are trying to spread lies to undermine your opponents platform. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume you've gotten no/wrong information.

Insurance companies are NOT forced to take high-risk clients. There is a specific high-risk pool set up for the patients you say are going to bankrupt the system and/or raise everyone's rates. They are kept apart from the general pool and cannot be used to raise everyone's rates. They will be put into federally subsidized exchanges when the law takes full effect in 2014. Problem solved.

As for people not getting health insurance until they get sick, that's a logical idea, but it has been provided for to prevent such abuse. People pay penalties and higher taxes if they don't get coverage. Problem solved.

As for the whole raising of rates for everyone just so they can pass on the higher costs to the customers, it's not gonna happen. The companies are REQUIRED to use 80 to 85 percent of premiums to pay for ACTUAL healthcare. No administrative costs, overhead, or fat bonus packages for executives. Any premium money above that percentage not used will be refunded to the customer. That leaves 20 percent for overhead, shareholder returns, and profit. Medicare operates with 5 or less percent overhead, so there's still plenty of meat on the bone to play with.

While it's not universal, it addresses many of the problems we had before the law, and it cuts down on the abuses and bad practices that the "free market" had NO problem with before. It's just another example of the market needing intervention and the failure of "free market" ideas. While you lament the death of a "booming" business, it begs the question: Booming for who? If you mean for the companies who got to rip off patients who paid their premiums by denying coverage, and raise the rates so high that millions of Americans can't afford coverage, just so they could make BILLIONS off of the sickness, suffering and deaths of people, then, yes, you're right, that "booming" business is dead. Long live Obamacare!
