stuck for over an hour a quarter mile back. and your assumptions are not from what the troopers were saying on scene. more like a bike got clipped by a car, and the rider went into the trees. it was a sad sight in person, guys.

Yup. Well maybe all you knot heads should drive a little faster.

80% of drivers on Connecticut roads have no business being there.

They must not teach the concept of "space cushions" in drivers ed anymore. Everybody likes to drive bumper to bumper at 70 mph. Eventually you are going to pay a price for that style of driving.

I toot the horn and laugh at accident scenes, as I cruise by at 60 mph with nobody around me.

Something is really wrong with a person when you respond to an article with heartless comments like the ones here.

You'd think differently about such callous comments if it were your own friend or relative that died today. I don't care what your level of driving skill is, or who was to blame for the accident - the fact remains that NO ONE deserves to die like that.

Yes, drivers make mistake, people drive too fast - we're not here to debate that. The article was about a person's DEATH.

Have a freakin' heart and think for a moment before you click on "post comment."

Exactly my point. Everything you wrote made sense until your last sentence. You've totally discredited yourself because you couldn't resist being cruel. Nice.

There is some amazing % of bikers that die every year in the USA. That's what's makes it so exciting I guess. I take my chances in other ways,no less exciting.

You speak of the lost trait called civility but one always wonders if it's the skinny white kid on the blue and white crotch rocket with matching helmet. The one that rides around at Mac-10 scaring the human waste out of everyone. The one I saw doing a wheelie at 100 plus on rt 2. Or is it the person riding along minding their own business hit by the texter or the nice driver who thinks better gas mileage is achieved by closing the distance to three feet.
Either way; somebody died and nothing of consequence will change. Responsible driving is a rarity in this fine state and even the rellmercials have not helped.

Here is a post by an inbred insensitive nipplehead. Remember fool, what goes around comes around, wait until you or one of your loved ones suffer a tragedy, then we'll see how you like the comments by fools like you.

Exactly where in this brief article does it mention excessive speed was a factor?

Wow. It's amazing to see how insensitive some of the poster's are in this forum. A bunch of low class people. I would say here's hoping the very same thing happens to your father, brother, mother, sister, or friend but that wouldn't be fair to that individual.

I don't know who it was that died but he/she obviously has a family. How would you like it if someone was spewing hate as some of you people have if this happened to a loved one of yours.

Yes there are the idiots who drive 160 mph on their bikes but even they don't deserve to die and I'm sorry Drew but a delay on Rt 2 is not worthy of a person losing there life.

In regards to another human being losing thee life, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

My daughter witnessed this accident and discovered the motorcyclist in the woods. He apparently just got this bike and he skidded and fell off. It was just a horrible accident.

I was one of the people stuck in the long hot wait on Route 2 last night. I did it the hard way, on my motorcycle and felt the heat coming off the bike engine. My left hand got numb from trying to move slowly ahead, pulling the clutch in and then releasing it to maintain a very slow speed. I saw the people stopped along side of the road probably out of gas. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the guy that got killed. I, too, see the kids doing wheelies on their bikes and shudder to think of their death wish. My first reaction to the news that it was a motorcyclist that was killed was - it must have been another "rice rocket kid" doing 140 mph. That is my self defense mechanism as friends and family think I am crazy to ride a bike and I do so very sanely. But then again, how often have I been cut off on the highway by the lady on the cell phone or swerved to miss the car that stopped suddenly and for no reason. It all goes crazy every so often. Sad thing is that this loss of life will not stir anyone enough to make a difference.

The statistics of people losing their lives on Motorcycles, verses the number of people who die in cars, isn't even close. Highway fatalities when measured and adjusted and averaged out for the number of registered cars and motorcycles, show that the perventage of deaths in automobiles is much much higher...

That being said, too many drivers around New England just drive like Morons with a death wish. Especially those in the "new and improved" hybrid cars.

The misfortune of this rider, is very sad, but whats even more depressing is thinking about the level some people sink to in order to make useless comments as if they actually have something to say!

Drivers, when you see Motorcycles, stay clear of them. There are way too many accident Attorneys like Trantolo and Trantolo who are waiting to take every cent you own, your property, your bank accounts, and your future earnings, when you excercise poor judgement and harm a biker and/or their passenger.

I'll follow someone until they stop, when someone tailgates me or endangers my life when I'm riding. I then introduce them to some "Bubbaization" when they get out of their cars...

There is no need for people to drive with the total lack of concern for safety...You don't get there faster, and it definitely costs you more money to operate your vehicle...Of course, it wouldn't urt if the State Police started using some 21st century tactics to control bad drivers...Most days, you see tour busses, Gas trucks, tank trucks, dump trucks, and Stae Politicians like Diana Urban, just flying down route 2 without the slightest care or concern for others safety, not to mention respect for the Law...

Urban, from Stongington, likes to Pilot her green Saab with State Legislator Plates (#48 i think) at speeds approaching 90 mph, WHILE drinking coffee, eating and talking on her cell phone...What a multifacited hypocrit as she voted in favor of the hands free cell phone ban...
