You don't know that Obama won't be a good president. You're just spewing mindless partisan rhetoric.

I'm a Republican who's open-minded and willing to take a wait-and-see approach before making up my mind about Obama.

Too bad you're not.

Boy. This is really rich.
Date your post to eight years ago, and change "Republican" to "Democrat" and you have the perfect plea to vicious, lying and hateful liberals/Democrats who have been on a mission to trash and personally destroy President Bush and Repubicans for eight years.
It is the HEIGHT of hypocrisy for liberals/Democrats to now plead so sweetly and patrioticly for unity now, to give Obama a chance, and other self-serving b.s. Just who the hell do you think has torn this country apart?
Well, karma's a biotch. What goes around comes around.
Liberal/Democratic hate and lies, personified by the likes of Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Joy Behar, Olbermann, Huffington, MoveOn, and many, many others, have ripped this country in two and done terrible damage to this country.
So now you want the half of the country that has received all that hating and lying to be all sweetness and light, and join you in singing kumbaya? I really don't think so. Duh.
This is a very well-expressed post. I can't disagree.

It's too bad, though, that mindless, vicious partisanship is destroying thins country. It should not have come to this.

It was "transparency" Obama shouted at every rally and I'm sure this President will live up to his campaign promises, there will be no secret's in his office. He will be the first President in American history not to ever lie or have a secret from the public. Unless he uses the same dictionary as Bill "I did not have sex w/that women" Clinton, maybe "transparency" means somthing else...maybe he'll have to "change" from cellophane to aluminum foil.
Lady, if you really believe this, I feel sorry for you because you are extremely naive and gullible. Barak Obama is no different from any other politician. One of the reasons he got elected was because he wouldn't commit to any plan and the "change" he talked about was so vague no one really knew what it was. He kept his issues hidden. He won't tone down the inauguration despite the fact that millions of people have lost their jobs and homes. Don't count on him feeding the poor or helping the masses.

Obama's script writers and image makers like to portray Obama as another Lincoln. first of all, Lincoln was born in Indiana, not Kenya.

Gee, Greg. Maybe because people don't trust them and don't think their ideas are workable and won't vote for them? That'd be my thesis.
The last Libertarian I spoke with at length seriously believes individual homeowners should own the sidewalks and streets in front of their homes and be responsible for all repairs.
Seriously.
All of the Libertarians I have heard of are extremely wealthy and they don't want any government control over their income. They don't believe in taxes of any kind.

Reading most of the comments about this article provides the real clue to what is wrong in America. This country and a lot of its people are in a heck of a mess. Yet you self-centered bigots are too full of pride and ignorance to try to pull the sides together. The Republican party lost the election, let us give the new guy a chance. I listen to Obama and then I read John Kass and most of your replies; and to tell you the truth you people are the real problem. Let's try to get this thing back on track for our kids and grandkids. We will never know what could be accomplished if we don't give it the opportunity. You people need to growup; there is more to the world than you and your selfishness.
JPardon me but I am not selfish, ignorant, or a bigot. I didn't vote for that guy because I knew what he stood for before the election. You are the one that needs to do your homework.

"It is possible that I could be completely wrong. I'll grant you that. And it is likely that without drinking the Democratic narcotic hopium or its Republican equivalent, dopium, that I'm suffering from some unknown withdrawal."

All we can do is wait and see. I have taken my fill of 'hopium' and I'm as high as I can get. I don't want to come down.

I'm glad you were able to exercise your voting rights. Now it's time to rally around the new policies and try to influence what's going on AFTER the election. You really don't know what he stands for since he hasn't been Pres. one day yet. It all starts now - not yesterday.

Just Sam said, "a medical doctor in Kenya said,'We in Kenya know him as anti-family.....'" What doctor? How does he know Obama? Obama hasn't been living in Kenya. Nor was he born there. Hearsay?

And Lincoln was born in Kentucky, grew up in Indiana, elected from Illinois.

John Kass claims to be a thorn on both on the two tribes, yet he is soft of his favorite tribe, the republicans. I've been reading his column throughout the whole election cycle and his claim to be the crusader of corruption, wherever the aisle it is on, is primarily partisan. He strikes hard on Barrack "The Chicago way" Obama even when Obama is nowhere near a particular scandal, and yet he gives the Repubs, Bush Administration (or the Ryan Administration for that matter) a slap on the wrist and a be on your way. He is biased. Some would say that is the worst kind of corruption: A Corruption Crusader who chooses his battles based on his political ideology. John Kass: Admit to your readers that corrupt democrats are worse than corrupt republicans.

An example of his biasness; he uses "Republican Security State" for the past republican administration "Democratic Nanny State". One is a pejorative and one is not. It would have behooved him to use "Policed State", a clear pejorative to balance out the name calling( a Balanced Column? That would be Insane!).

But this column does not condemn republican ideology, I has no problems, however, on calling the Obama Administration a Nanny State EVEN BEFORE it takes office.

But you don't have to too far to see how far right he lean: NewsBustusters.org ? Really Kass?

So right. Will we see the right marching in the streets of DC against Obama like the left in 2000 and 04. No, because most on the right go about their life, going to work and talking care of the home. Most on the right do not count on the hand outs and the tit(boob) of the tax payer when life good wrong. Because besides what the left thinks life does have its ups and downs.
