Congrats! and I agree!
The NRA sent me a membership card with a bill. I'm keeping the card so (like Michael Moore) I can call myself a card-carrying member but no way I'm sending them a dime.
They must have gotten my info from Cabela's, where I bought a few gun-related items.
The same guys that are overly paranoid about a gun registry are collecting data from third parties about who might own guns and might want to be members. Now that's irony.

I appear to qualify on the basis of SAT. I have no clue what my GREs were.
I dont know anything about this group - but it appears it is for those with a lot of time on their hands. I would think most people who are engrossed in a profession would have enough social intellectual stimulation to deal with, without having to look for more. I have a hard time just keeping up with the Continuing Ed requirements of the several certifications I have.
Brilliant people like us just naturally flock together. This is what I was saying to our Mediterranean friend.(We don't need a club, we have Topix.)

But I agree. Joining a club just so you can all say you're smart doesn't mean much or say much.

Growing up in G'ch, I've hung around with enough smartasses to last me a lifetime.

Sure it does.
Why do I need to participate in a religion (or any other activity) in order to know what the central beliefs are??
I know what Republicans believe and but I'm not one.
I know the basic beliefs of Christians are but I'm agnostic.
Being raised Catholic no doubt helps a bit.
You though it ironic that a "nonbeliever" was correcting the record re Christianity.
Why?
.
I dont get how he can argue on one hand that you as a nonpracticing or non Christian CAN NOT explain the Christian religion properly...and on the other hand how he, as a non-Jew CAN "explain" the Jewish religion.

And their most outspoken congressional leader/pawns are also the most outspoken IN DEFENSE of NSA tracking databases (which include ALL citizens).

Apparently databases are OK, as long as they say they are.

It all becomes clear when you realize in the minds of conservatives, the second amendment is absolutely immutable, while all other amendments are merely "suggestions".

Argumentative just for the sake of being argumentative. I said it before, and I'll say it again - Obvious troll is obvious.

What I've always heard about MENSA is that they're a bunch of egotistical nerds. Not a particularly social or interesting group of people. So while I am sure some what you say does go on, I'm not sure how much. I think most of them probably belong just so they can say so.
Speaking of which, my graduate school admissions test (Miller Analogies) qualified me to join. Same with my wife. We had no interest in joining.(I had no idea but a friend of mine pointed this out so I checked their website and our scores - just for fun.)

I'm gratified for your kind words.
Enjoyed also our full-day tour of the Vatican/Museum etc. I also like the way the way people there do not go out to dinner until 9 or 10 at night. Here it's more like 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
You are qualified for mensa and you cant even figure out how to hook your smart tv on wifi?

What happens after gun registration in a dictatorial regime?

He is not Christian. He has his own religion altogether. Also, halachically, he actually may be Jewish (parents were survivors).
rabbee: i do not know, who my parents or true family are for sure. they apparently did not, survive the war. as far as i know, i could have been found floating in the danube. or whether i ever had, any parents on earth at all. i don't seem to remember a lot, at that point in time.

if my surrogate mother, lied to me all my life. how can i trust what she said, just before she died about some jewish family and some ate off mad man? and not even tell me, or know what their names were.

so nobody on earth can prove to me i am, or was one of those disloyal jews to G-D here in TheTorah. and just because TheG-D WHO only visits jewish boys, came to visit with me is not sufficient proof either. it is still all, only circumstantial. i am not about to blow smoke, into my own not smoking gun.

and as for the alleged religion, it is not my idea of a religion for me. this is all G-D'S fault, WHO shanghaied me into this. i was minding my own business, in the ghetto's of st Louis, and having a great day, till G-D interrupted me with all of this.

A subcontract is part of the whole, you ding dong.
rabbee: yes but it is still, not the whole. but is a method of possibly leaving you in the hole, should something go wrong. all for one, unless something goes terribly wrong.

and the governments liability is diminished, as long as they isolate themselves with sufficient contractors and subcontractors with plausible denial.

you can't sue, the federal government without their permission. but no such equal protection under the law, is given to contractors or subcontractors.

the greater the danger the more the federal government, will distance themselves with contractors and subcontractors. in order to avoid, as much direct responsibility as possible.

If I had a dime for every missionary who claimed their parents / grandparents / aunt-uncle / close friend ... were survivors ... I'd have a lot of dimes.
rabbee: well you can subtract, my dime from that. because i am not about, to make and uncertain claim.

first of all i reject, the idea of being a jew. i have no proof, of who my real family is. and jews were not the only group, that had survivors or non-survivors during the war. and Noach and Avraham were not jews, when G-D came to visit with them.

ok so i can't explain how, Adam 2000 years ago was an alleged jew. and i don't want, to be one now. cause being an alleged, jew then did not prevent G-D, from having Adam put to death. so THEY, could rip Him apart, and make a woman out of Him.

when it does not sound like, a proper anesthetic and medical procedure to me. when G-D'S version of this, is no where like the way the world is lying about it. i am surprised it did not take me, even longer than this to figure it out even with G-D'S Help.

Until you can prove otherwise.
If gay folks "knew they were different" ,could be a sign of a personality disorder.
rabbee: never met a child, who did not think they were some what different than other children. even the sandbox bully, who kicks sand in your face is proof of that. even the reason you do not want to be different, is because you are.

when trying to be normal, in an insane world. can only serve to make you normally insane. do not believe G-D creates, the flaws we are responsible for choosing to create in ourselves. and the world even teaches, their flaws into the children of the world.

the more you say, a specific sin is ok. the more and more, it is likely to exist. and the more your going to teach, your children it is ok. which is only going to result in more, pestilence, plague and famine.

a high crime rate in any country, is not a sign of your country being G-Dly. a high rate of pestilence, plague, and famine are not the signs of a holy nation under G-D. if you think hiring more police, will solve your high crime rate. you are only fooling yourselves, with a sense of false security. bigger government will not, make any one truer to G-D or solve your problem of G-Dlessness.

Religious beliefs should be open to criticism, questioning and meddling. If the rel.igion is based on rationalism and humanism it will welcome criticism, questioning and meddling. If religious beliefs interfere with the smooth functioning of society with all their silly dos and donts they should be outlawed or relegated to the confines of homes and shrines with no consideration, allowances or subsidies given to the religious types.
