Why or why not?

You do not offer any sort of financial support for the church to which you belong?
I had understood that you were somewhat affluent (by local standards).
Your church has no financial needs or obligations?
<quoted text>
I'm a nontheist who was raised Catholic. Probably not the best person to address these issue for you.
HughBe--- Pay close attention, I go because I am NOT "special" as you no doubt are.

Former---You don't seem to want to tell me why you go to church or believe the way you believe.

HughBe--- I have repeatedly TOLD YOU but you are not understanding it. I am using "special" in precisely the same way that YOU used it. Now if you understand your meaning then you should no difficulty in understanding my ANSWER.

Hint: try substitution

The other part about "believe the way you believe" is NEW. What exactly are you talking about, is it tithing?

Former---Is it a religion you were born into or did you evaluate your beliefs and choose it on your own?

HughBe--- My parents were Christians and I am called a Christian.

Former---Did someone introduce you to the faith?

HughBe--- YES, my parents. Who introduced you to atheism?

Former---Do you consider yourself to be a good Christian?

HughBe--- An EXCEPTIONAL person but not a good Christian. Note, exceptional is being used in the EXACT way that you are using GOOD.

Former---Why or why not?

HughBe--- no man is good in the eyes of God or God's standard.

Former---What is the name of your religion?

HughBe--- Some call it Christianity

Former--Who only some?

HughBe--- What is the number or percentage that you get from my some?

Former---Do you believe in Christ the Lord, son of God?

HughBe--- I believe in Jesus, the Christ, the Being who BECAME the Son of God, the CREATOR of this world and all that is in it.

Former--That he died for our sins?

HughBe--- Yes

Former--The trilogy?

HughBe--- I take it that you mean TRINITY which is NOT the same as TRILOGY. Lesson: TRILOGY is a SERIES of 3 whereas TRINITY is 3.

Former---Do you tithe? How much $?

HughBe--- No and obviously NO for the second question.

Former---You do not offer any sort of financial support for the church to which you belong?

HughBe--- Cite my words that confused you and led you to such a unfounded question.

Former--Your church has no financial needs or obligations?

HughBe--- I shall give you an account for you to make your contribution . Clearly you want to do so.

Please deal with the OUTSTANDING questions. Your disclaimer that you are "a nontheist" is a poor excuse in the CONTEXT of your detailed INTERROGATION plus you were a CATHOLIC.

Did you pay TITHES as a Catholic?

If not, why not?

Answer my questions.

Why do you ask? Do you want to know how much to tithe?
What is tithing?
Who should collect tithes?
Is it rabbis or LEVITICAL priests?
Suppose tithe means a tenth, do you think that collecting a tenth and renaming it changes the fact that you are collecting money fraudulently?

Living in Jamaica you dont have the infrastructure maintenance costs, and plus your standard and cost of living is amazingly low. Therefore you probably dont have to be concerned with raising revenue to keep your organizations like we do in the states.

If you want to answer with a mono-response that is fine, and I suppose that does tell me something about how you view the other sects. Though not as interesting than if you had an assortment of differing opinions.
Once again--

Frijoles---Are other churches special?

HughBe---- the church itself is not special and so there cannot be "OTHER" special churches.

And on top of that, most likely, you have tinier buildings being that you are poor and third worldish - but that is my guess
