Very good point Hugh.
There was no point. Just a qualification.

If you are not an alien, the qualification does not involve you.

Really?
What/whom DO you have?
I thought you attended some sort of special church for "special" people...
You must worship someone or something.
HughBe--- I have no "god".

Former--Really?

HughBe--- I omitted myself in my comment and that much should have been clear.

Former--What/whom DO you have?

HughBe--- myself

Former--I thought you attended some sort of special church for "special" people...

HughBe--- Indeed, the church that I attend has SPECIAL people but the church itself is not special.

The thing that you must keep in mind is that my use of SPECIAL means DISTINGUISHED and in this context you are correct in applying it to church.

If I were thinking about you I would immediately think about your schooling and then your use of "special" would apply.

Former--You must worship someone or something.

HughBe--- Explain the MUST worship. Who do you worship?

Are you talking about a non-existent someone or something? How is such worship achieved?

yes.
An alien must comply with the fact that they are not a citizen. Whether we like it (approve of it) or not.
Former---"If you LIVE in the USA, you must comply with the RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES and responsibilities of being a US citizen.

HughBe--- Are your words applicable to LEGAL aliens LIVING in the US?

Frijoles---yes.

HughBe--- Here is the POINT. Aliens LIVE in the US but they are NOT citizens and as such the RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES etc. of citizens don't apply. Simply put, your MUST comply is MISAPPLIED to them.

Frijoles---An alien must comply with the fact that they are not a citizen.

HughBe--- Correct BUT understand that not being a CITIZEN is the opposite of being a CITIZEN and so the compliance and RIGHTS are NOT the same.

Former---Whether we like it (approve of it) or not.

HughBe--- Indeed, whether or not YOU like it, the RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES of US citizens are different from non-citizens.

Think about your own words, ""If you LIVE in the USA, you must comply with the RIGHTS,... of being a US citizen"

Now Frijoles, aliens LIVE in the US.

Now back to your opinion again, perhaps you have lost where we got started.
I was comparing your faith (which it only is) in government to those that follow the scriptures and you are no better than them.
You are a hypocrite athiest because you can not point to any evidence that the constitution or code is applicable to anyone.
I have no idea what you're talking about.

Faith is belief in something without evidence.

If you break the law, you will face the penalties. If you don't pay your taxes the gov't will place a tax lien on your house. You will lose your property and pay the price.

Rain man, I don't care about the "constitution or code." The gov't and the laws exist. This is fact, not faith.

Now tell me again what I am missing here.

I do not worship anything or anyone and I don't go to any church, special or otherwise.

But you do.

Why?

You must believe in something.

Other than milo that is.

How about something light, like abortion?
HughBe--- Too late, you are already here.
Immigration is a very complicated subject.

No interest in engaging on it here.

"During her trial, Hill was ordered by the judge in Newark, New Jersey to undergo counseling because of her CONSPIRACY THEORIES......."
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/465175/2013...
Reclusive soul superstar Lauryn Hill has been jailed over an enormous unpaid tax bill.
Fugees singer Hill, 37, was sentenced to three months' jail followed by three months' home confinement for failing to pay $500,000 to the taxman in the United States.
Hill claimed the sum was outstanding because she had "withdrawn from society" after alleged threats against her family.
She was imprisoned after failing to pay the amount within the stipulated two-week timeframe.
During her trial, Hill was ordered by the judge in Newark, New Jersey to undergo counseling because of her CONSPIRACY THEORIES - including that artists are being oppressed by a plot involving the military and media.
Hill pleaded guilty to charges of tax evasion last year. Her lawyers said she had paid more than $970,000 of an outstanding tax bill which amounted to more than $2m.
Hill vanished from public life to raise her five children by Rohan Marley - the son of acclaimed reggae singer Bob - following the success of her album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' in 1998.
Shortly before she was arrested last year, Hill penned a diatribe declaiming the music industry.
In the rant, Hill blasted pop music for a "climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism.
"Over-commercialisation and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual."
During her trial, Hill claimed she is still forced to live under the pernicious economic hierarchy imposed by the slave trade.
She told the court: "I am a child of former slaves who had a system imposed on them. I had an economic system imposed on me."
Hill became internationally famous in the mid-1990s as a member of The Fugees. The band's second album The Score sold almost 20m copies worldwide and spawned smash hit single Killing me Softly.
After the band split up, Hill released 'The Miseducation' which won six Grammy awards. At the time of beng sentenced, she was working on the long-awaited follow-up entitled 'The Return.'
So much for no debtors prisons.

I am talking about the facts that you rely on that any laws apply to you personally, so you are telling me that you "believe" they apply because some psychopath will put you in a cage.
So i presume that those with the guns arent worried about consent.

I am only telling you that I follow the law because for me it makes more sense than NOT following the law.(I would however smoke a little weed if someone had some...)

Recall pragmatism vs idealism. I do what seems practical and convenient.

You go to church because you are "not special?"

I thought god (or whatever you call your deity) made each of us to be very special indeed.
