Religion is a THEOLOGY.
A TECHNOLOGY would provide one with an efficient means of directly tapping into the source that it is devised to investigate.
The highlights of religion or theology are - mumbo jumbo prayers, head bowing, staying offline on a particular day, fasting, throwing salt over one's shoulder, wearing a specific garment, growing a beard, blowing a horn, counting beads and the like keep you anchored to the same plane of consciousness and energy that one is in.
I hope you got the difference between technology and theology (religion).
Your mistake is that you are hung up on dogma.
