Yeah, I had to downplay my motorcycle in my match.com ad because I got responses from guys who want to go riding every weekend. My motorcycle was fun to ride, but I had no interest in just riding for the sake of riding. It was a fun way to get from point A to B. I always felt that if I had six hours to kill on a weekend, I should be doing something with my dog and/or my friends, not out riding with other people but never having conversation until we stopped for gas.<quoted text>
I find it extremely odd as well, but maybe she tried it and really, really liked it.
The bottom line is that people spend the most time with people who like to do the same things that they like to do. For example, a good friend of mine was seeing a guy who LOVED to spend his weekends going on long motorcycle rides with his friends. My friend also likes to ride, but not *every* weekend. After a year, they broke up because of that. I think LW needs to spend less time with her friend because they don't enjoy the same type of recreation. She also needs to be less judgemental.
I went riding one weekend with a group of women (very nice and fun ladies). Never again. Not my thing.
