NO ONE deserves to be raped, I was born & raised in the wicker park area.
We could walk the streets at any time of the day or night. No one had to worry about becoming a victim of robbery or rape ! Not until the blacks started to move in & around this once beautiful, peaceful neighborhood. The same situation was
in the bucktown area, beautiful & safe until the drug abusers & gang bangers invaded this once peaceful community. White flight occured when these neighborhoods complection changed.People feared for their property as well as their lives. Logan square, humbolt park, all were wonderful areas of Chicago.
I was so pleased to hear that these areas were being rehabed,so many wonderful childhood memories.
Now to read about this rapist is frightening to say the least.
So many neighborhoods in Chicago were great growing up. I grew up in the Roseland neighborhood and remember taking a trolley into the downtown area. South Shore neighborhood was beautiful and I loved going to Rainbow Beach. When the neighborhood changed ethnicities (African American) I stayed as long as I could, but after being robbed once by gun point and another time by force that put me in the hospital decided to move to the suburbs. The same problems I moved from the city are now here in the suburbs. The exceptance and subculture of crime in the African American community is the problem not the skin color.

An absolutely idiotic comment from a brainless little girl.
Wow, I love the fact that my first response to this comment gets erased while this guy's drivel is allowed to stand. That's fair.

In any case, the point I was trying to make is that it doesn't matter whether it's 2:30 in the morning or 2:30 in the afternoon, or that the woman was listening to her i-pod, or any one of a million other factors you can point to. The woman was raped BECAUSE THERE WAS A RAPIST. Period. Know how to stop rape? Get men to stop raping.

Many male rapists do what they do because their mom abused them, not necessarily sexual abuse, but being nasty and domineering. So I guess one can say: Moms, raise your boys right!

What if....what if...what if...What if she shot and killed the jerk and we didn't have to worry about him raping anymore? Or paying fo rhis confinement until he got out and did it again? We can't live in a world of what-if. This is a reality, and the reality is that King Richard's policy is NOT working. We need to try something else. Of all the communities that have legislated carry-conceal laws, I don't think there is ONE that has seen an increase in violent crime. Certainly not from people licensed and trained to use their weapon.

Hear, Hear. You're exactly right. Even if you're highly trained it's difficult to use a gun correctly. Most people (both men and women), if they get training at all, would throw their gun in a backpack or purse and never practice with it. In a violent situation, it becomes a weapon to be used against them. Don't let the gun lobby tell Chicago citizens what they want. We don't want more guns on our streets. We want fewer guns. Concealed weapons do nothing but perpetuate the myth that guns equal less violence. Worldwide statistics show that the U.S, with the most liberal gun laws in the world, has the most violent crime.
Why do you think concealed carry would legalize firearms for criminals? You must complete a background check to carry legally, in the states that allow it. Gangbangers would never qualify. Nonetheless, they carry guns because they don't care about the law. Concealed carry at least gives the good people a chance.

I just love Illinois, we are such a rich, rich, fertile environment for criminals. We here in Illinois, are unarmed and thugs know it. Oh thank you, thank you, you moronic fricken Democrats for not allowing us in Illinois, the basic human right to defend ourselves. Thank you Madigan, thank you Daley, thank you Gov Quinn for allowing us to be raped and murdered by the hundreds!

Wake up, Chicago! Your mayor is guarded by ARMED men. He has a security detail that has, what?.... GUNS! I would imagine he also owns at least one "illegal" handgun for self defense. You, the peons, are not allowed to protect yourself. You're not worthy. You need to wake up and smell the coffee, Chicagoans! If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. That is proving to be as true as the day is long. Richard Daley has a gun and is an outlaw. It oughta be a crime the way he and his cronies treat the good people of Chicago. WAKE UP!!!!!!

Nobody deserves to get raped. But let's face it, Chicago women are about as prissy as they get. They won't learn self defense they won't do a thing to protect themselves, because they think it won't happen to them. And, with the gun ban Chicago is probably the easiest place in the country for a rapist to operate, especially with a police force who usually just serves whoever pays them off.

16th district didn't do a thing when I called in a death threat, even though I had it on tape. But when big corporate Forest City Enterprises called them because I was doing a lousy petition against them, the police came out like the calvalry and threatened to arrest me if I didn't stop. Most people have never heard of Forest City, but they should get to know them. They're the Al Capone's of the 21st Century. Check out my website. They own Brooklyn too.

I guess Big Mac fails to see that many of those incarcerated are because of the antiquated marijuana laws forced on us in the 1930s, thus gradually swelling prison populations, disrupting families, and otherwise law-abiding individuals. Of course, keep the rapists and murderers in prison - they should be there. Nobody is advocating that they be let loose.

You said it!!! " with the gun ban Chicago is probably the easiest place in the country for a rapist to operate" and yet the idiots that banned the gus continue to get voted into office and endanger the very voters that put them there. Go figure.

One more thing to consider. If we get the Olympics in 2016, guess who will get the no-bid contract? Yep, I heard Forest City. We will then have a real disaster on our hands when the whole Olympic village gets infested with black mold and/or half the stadiums collapse.

Please show the FACTS to back up your comment. There seriously aren't many marijuana users being sent to the big house. Now the guy with a few BALES of weed is not a user, he's a dealer. While I agree that marijuana should be legalized and taxed, if it were, someone will try to sell it illegally, without paying the taxes.
That being said, I submit that the majority of our inmates are CRACK cocaine dealers, thieves and sex offenders. Regardless of where they live, you'll be supporting this low-life group. They'll be getting Social Security at the ripe old age of 25 for "Depression" or "Seizures" or some other age-old malady that their mother told them to claim. So, we might as well pay $20,000/yr. to keep them in prison as opposed to paying $40,000 in pay and benefits to let them out.

Obama is far and away the worst president we've ever had. So people should bash him at every opportunity until the rest of you wake up!

Hhahahahahaha
Obama hasn't even been in office 1 full year professor. Hhahahaha But Ill make a deal with ya...if Obama can **f**u**c**k*** up the ENTIRE nation in another year as Dumbya did in his first 9 months..Ill apologize. But let's be perfectly honest, even YOU couldn't do as bad a job as Dumbya Bush has.So the deal is off...that record of Bushs' can't be beaten.

Now you have no problem talking about politics on this thread...eh? LMAO!

Now quite frankly back in January I said Dubya was the worst president we've ever had. So I'm no certainly no right-winger. But Obama is far worse.

He's given away more money to Corporate America in about six months than ALL OF THE OTHER PRESIDENTS COMBINED GOING BACK TO 1776.

I think he's told more lies than all other presidents combined. He promised to go to bat for mainstream. But all he cares about is Wall Street.

These bailouts are a double edged sword. Put in any claims with State Farm Insurance recently? It's a whole different ballgame. They said they don't care if they lose every policyholder because they know Obama will say they're too big to go out of business. Almost every corporation is running roughshod over the consumers now thanks to f*cking Obama and his bailouts.

Like the idea of illegals getting free health insurance. How about no more borders to the south. How about Obama making nice with terrorist leaders. How bout unemployment approaching 1929 levels.

If Obama really wanted to improve the economy he would have given stimulus to small and medium sized busineses for every new hire. No, instead he's trying destroy the middle class so we can become a socialism.

Wake up, before it's too late.

Freedom, do you compare apples to oranges all the time? I believe that Bigmac was making a statement about how we are a society of sheep just waiting for the predatory scumbags to pick us off because of the inability of our lawmakers to come to the realization that we have to be allowed to defend ourselves! The brave men and women of law enforcement just cant be everywhere.
Somehow you take that statement and turn it into a rant to legalize marijuana? Legalize Pot = Concealed Carry Right in your book?
