I used to like ink and planned on getting tatoos. I'd use a ball point pen to draw designs on myself when I was in the fifth grade. I moved on to the sixth grade and left it behind

Tell your daughter to go to Ancient Art in South Elgin. That's where I got my first two...20 years ago. They were wonderful and I hear they still are.
I still love mine and just got another a year ago at Mom's in Austin.
I am 40 yrs old and I got my first tat two years ago. It is on my lower back so really no one can see it unless I want it seen. I didn't do it because it was a fad but because I wanted one. My 17 yr daughter wants one...I told her she could get one when she was 18 but she needed to think carefully about where and what she gets.

Comebacks? I didn't know we were in a piissssing contest.
Well it certainly isn't a debate, if you can't defend your position without resorting to name-calling.

It looks unlikely that you'll ever allow yourself to do that, so my responses to you will end here.

I do hope that one day you realize that there is more to life than hate, and at least find better reasons to dislike someone other than judging them solely on their appearance.

Maybe one day a tattooed person will save your life, or your mom will surprise you by getting one, and you'll open your mind a little.

I wish you luck.

On a non-Rev related note, I find it amusing that almost everyone posting here who are opposed to tattoos are not able to actually spell the word correctly.

Hahahah, no they won't... Not unless I TELL you to shut up, and it hasn't come to that yet, because I enjoy watching you make such a fool of yourself.

it always amazes me that ppl are so quick to judge ppl with ink or their ability to find work that pays more than minimum wage if they have tattoos. I waited until I was 30 years old to get my arm sleeved out and I don't regret it one bit. Not one day goes by that I look at my art and think "gosh I wish I wouldn't have done that". Its partly because i chose things that mean something to me. they are very significant tattoos and I waited until I was ready to accept what the masses would think of me if I went through with my decision to get inked.I went and still patronize a very reputable tattoo shop. And that is the mistake I think many ppl make. They don't do enough research on the artist that is going to put something on them for life and it ends up looking like a jail house tattoo and then you do end up looking like you do not care about your appearance. And yes, in that sense ppl tend to look down on you. But my mother who is tattoo free and my father and current employer is not the least bit bothered by my tattoos because they look beautiful. They are artistic and well done. And I can carry them off in a certain way because I am a confident woman. But let me say this. Has no one on this board heard of tattoo cover up make up??? I mean there are times when a person may not want to display the tattoos they have and I believe that is just as much of a right as it is to get tattoos in the first place. If you're so worried about your daughters job prospects then go immediately to dillards or order tattoo concealer online. There are many out there that do very well. That way we can all have our cake and eat it too. And no, strippers with no tattoos do not make more money than those who do have them. My best friend dances and makes hand over fist. Please speak about what you know of before posting it on this board. And someone said tattoos are a "fad". Well, torn jeans, short hair cuts, punk rock, etc, those may be considered fads. But if you do your homework tattooing has been around for hundreds of years. And I'm here to tell you that's its not going anywhere. Its here to stay. And more ppl are really accepting it. I heard something once that seems particularly fitting for this forum. "the only difference between people with tattoos and people without them is this. People with tattoos DON'T CARE if you don't have any"

Hey T&P -- You and everyone else are free to get inked, pierced, whatever, just as I am free to dislike your "body art." Go for it.

I don't care if you are tattooed. But you really need to work on your "people" skills.

Tattoos can cause cancer, birth defects, and reproductive problems. So not worth it.
