DC mayor vetoes wage bill affecting Wal-Mart
Mayor Vincent Gray vetoed a bill Thursday that would force Wal-Mart and other large retailers to pay their employees at least $12.50 an hour, calling it a "job killer" that would not advance the goal of a living wage for District of Columbia workers.

At last! some one in city government understands economics!
remember that axiom from economics 101 which states
what you tax you get less of what you subsidize you get more of.
Now look around your city, state and the country and see the results of 60 years of ignoring that axiom plus over taxation, regulation of business by city, county, state and federal government and aggressive bully tactics by unions.
