Yea I remember being able to walk all over the south side of Chicago without fear of being shot robbed etc
I walked home from 55th and lake shore drive to 10023 south bensley and enjoyed the walk.

then when I was in high school we could drive anywhere in the city and not have a problem with guns drugs or parking cause we never parked anywhere so we never got parking tickets like the drivers today get..

But that was in the good old days before negros with guns and drugs took over the south side of Chicago.

People could actually live in a lot of those homes you see all broken down and abandoned on the south side today. There were jobs and lots of places for people to work on the south side of the city.

Did you know them negros with guns kill more people in just one year than we did 20 years?

I miss the good old days.....before the negros

I can remember a few.

Henrys Hamburger Drive In by Midway Airport, Frelachs Ice Cream, Stop&Shop, and Hillmans (Or was it Heilemans?) in the loop.

Kuhns German Delicatessen on N Licoln Ave (man what a place that was!)

Sears on Homan Ave (was at one time the flagship store for decades)

Rose Records on Wabash-Loop (Great record shop at one time)

Frank's Drum Shop, Lyon Healy on Wabash in the Loop.

Wiebolts, Goldblatts in the loop.

On the south side we have Peoples store on Michigan ave, on the east side Gassmans, Goldblatts, lot of other great stores to shop in.

The homes on the south side all had grass and few flowers in the front yards, well maintained homes.

no garbage or junk cars on the streets.

no dead bodies for the children to stumble over on the way to school.

People took pride in the places they live in.
two and three flats were well maintained.

single family homes looked good cause people cared.

unlike the south side of today that looks like a war zone.

what great drive in restaurants and white castle???
