Is there a war on religion? I don't think so, but there SHOULD be.... there should be an absolute law AGAINST promotion of religion and other fairytales in any public forum.... Look around you whiney little bitchboy... Edog is a douchebag of the highest order IMO
You must be one of those "tolerant" liberals.

You would think Christians made up 80% of this country!!

Maybe you should live somewhere else instead of expecting the country to cater to YOU?

I don't expect the country to cater to me. I expect the country to do what it's supposed to do...uphold the constitution. Not just when it agrees with my POV, but all the time.

You OTOH might want to look into buying a place in some theocratic shithole country. <shrug> Since basing the government and what is/isn't allowed on religion is something apparently very important to you.

This country was basically built by people who wanted to escape the religious intolerance shown by the Church of England. You know that, right? That is one of the reasons why the Constitution was written written so that the government cannot sanction nor appear to sanction any religion.

FWIW, the Constitution does NOT say there shall be a separation of Church and State, just that there shall not be any established state religion.

The separation bit comes from (I think) either The Federalist Papers or Thos Jefferson. Good writing but not the Constitution.

Yes, I know the Constitution does not have the words of separation of Church and State -- but that definitely was the spirit given the set of circumstances back then.

Yeah, just like the spirit of the 2A was to have an armed populace that the govt could not intimidate.
