I feel bad for the mother but she is a total whack bag looking for money. She probably found out the driver had minimum coverage and learned she would get no more money. Sad she has to tarnish her daughters death with a money grabbing lawsuit.

The Officers were doing exactly what they were trained to do. The Mom certainly wants justice. The photos that were/ were not taken, in the nude or partial nude maybe for a few reasons. She may have not been wearing all clothing. It might prove she did or didn't wear a seat belt. If she was wearing one & it malfunctioned , it would leave a bruise on the arms? shoulder? I would think she would want MORE than enough evidence. OK, i agree, she might be loosing it.

I think anybody would lose there mind if they lost there child.. Don't be a f*!@#$***hole.. I imagine many of the people commenting negative remarks towards the Mejia family are probably friends of that scum bag Nick Sord. Winners...not.
Seriously did you really end a sentence with NOT? Why dont you hop in your time machine and travel back to 1994. I have no idea who Nick Sord is, nor do I care. I hope he spends alot of time in prison for the death of that girl. But I disagree with mom trying to make some coin off of her daughters death. Simple as that.

Just another hideous example of people trying to make money on someone's death!! This poor girl must be rolling over in her grave knowing what her mother is doing. Her mother should be ashamed of herself. If the girl was NAKED while in the car and she died upon impact then the police must document it as such. So now mommy dearest is trying to blame the police in order to make her daughter look a little less trashy. Nice mom. I'd feel more sorry for the woman if she told the truth.

Why is there no mention of her alcohol level?
She was not even legal age, It is hard to believe at 4:30am the Sherriffs department is going to be staging a photo shoot when it is 2 degrees outside. Not only that there were witnesses. This family is showing their true greed.

This comes up almost one year after the accident. You really have to wonder how this really transposed . My guess is that evidence photos of the accident victim were view by the mothers lawyers. Lawyer which are the most honest people around and are looking out for their clients, probably suggested the case against cook county. Tne represented family may not get the full amount they are asking for because the Cook County most likely will settle for a lesser amount in stead of paying out legal fees long term. The lawyer gets paided no matter how theout come is .
I do feel sorry for the grieving family. It's unfortunate lawyers prey on people in this type of situation.

Don't take me wrong, I feel for all parties involved, it would be devastating to lose a child, to be the parent of a child that caused another's death, however, perhaps if they would have been a little bit more involved, the girl,(underage) wouldn't have been out at this time of night, in that condition. Maybe she is experiencing some guilt. I still feel that some responsibility lies with the girl. She willingly got in the vehicle.

If I lost my child the grieving process would not end over night. It could take years! She is coping with the loss and facing reality. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to hear what may have been done to her daughter. It may have taken her time to decide what to do about it. Everything Christina is going through is a mother's worst nightmare. I pray it's not true, but if it is I hope the family will get there closure and justice will be served for Jessica.

I agree.. she has to be feeling guilty.... my daughter told me she kicked her own daughter out at 17.. and did not live with her since! she should of been more involved with her daughter.

nick loved that girl and he would have taken her place if he could. Nike is a great person and was part of a terrible acedent. I know jessica and she would want people to know nick was tring to help her get home and he dont diserve to do time. She beged him to pick her up and the roads were bad. All that nick did was try to help a friend and he lost freadom, and the girl he realy loved. You shold not judge someone for what you read or here. God has forgiven everyone for their sins including nick.Im sorry but jessica mother is happy to have the money and failed as a mother. Im sorry this all happened. I wish people knew how good of a person nick is. Jessica would want nick to be happy and would stand up for him if she was here.

The mom does seem like a true nut case... I feel repulsed by the families obvious effort to extort every penny they can get their hands on. The fact that she was only 20 years old and drunk means the parents probably didnít care or permitted their princess to drink underage. But all of a sudden they do and want satisfaction in the way of a quick buck. They may think that this press announcement will buy them a jackpot. I think not.
