I am not going to search the inet to find proof of your outlandish claims. Thats your responsibility. And the fact that you dont post links supporting you claims, makes them even more suspect, and diminishes your respectability.

And I apologize for the 15%, I miss-read. What you actually typed was 5%, which only makes your statement even more deplorable.

Thats a whopping 40 cent increase on an $8 wage * 40 hrs = a whole $10 a week in additional take home pay. WHOOT!

Dont spend it all in one place!

There is no pay inequality. Pay discrimination based on gender is already illegal. The issue is just another "distraction" by the MSM to take our focus off the weak economic recovery. Your leaders thank you for playing along.

Our first quarter GDP took a hit...still positive, but only 0.1 percent...should've expected that we had to take a hit somewhere, after that severe of a winter....Too many people effected and business's dealing with the stagnation.....Fortunately, along with poor performance in one front, we should look forward to the many positive trends, also....

There are two economies. Despite all their complaining about Obama, rich people aren't complaining. Even the Koch's, who seem to be one election away from running the whole country, have continued to make billions with Obama in the White House. The nameless mope who is CEO of McDonald's gets an $8 million bonus and FOX blondes will say he "earned" it. Internet mopes will echo that, adding that it's un-American to say how much is "too much". They hold fast to that until a raise in the minimum comes up. Then $10.10 an hour is "too much". Cue the anecdotal stories of Big Mac misadventures...
So, carppy minimum wage jobs are created? That creates more wealth for the wealthy. Lifestyles of the rich and famous. People like that. It looks good on TV. It gives us hope. It sells lottery tickets. The less we make, the more 'they' make. We're not too bright. Remember: an entire political party believed in 2009 that tax cuts for the rich created jobs. "Rich people only hire when they have extra money from not paying taxes". You won't find that wisdom taught in any business school. I wonder why?
The voice of reason above. People take the crappy jobs because that's all that's all that's out there. Anyone see big business bringing back manufacturing of their products to this country? Nope, they just sit on their cash. That's what would get a good economy going. Not any president and certainly not the right.

Interesting article. I'm certainly not a fan of the tea party, due to the crazies it spawned but I think the author makes some good points in relation to big business.

Good morning All! We had over 5 inches of rain yesterday and it is supposed to rain more today :( I know that some places in Florida got it worse, but so many roads around here are closed because of flooding and many of my friends had bad flooding in their basements. Our basement is fine, but the roof has started leaking.*sigh* Praying for a better day today.

Hard to believe, some of those videos of how bad it was around Pensacola....23" in 24 hours, is hard to comprehend.....Northeast got hit hard too....People need to never try to drive thru that deep water, especially when they aren't sure.....Many years ago, i knew a guy that did, and had to write a check for $27,000....for a new engine for his Mercedes....lol....

Alan Keyes is a conservative radio show host that could not get elected. Why is his quote any different from what you would say? How does it back up anything?

He was simply stating a fact. Not sure what his political motivations, profession, or income have to do with anything

If the trainers were paid a living wage, instead of working for tips, this would not have happened. I propose all trainers make $15 an hour, and get double time for any work after 5:00 PM.

Sorry to hear about your roof. If you can afford it, get the whole thing re-done was a good warranty and from a reputable contractor. The company that did mine was excellent, and I got a 10 yr warranty. When their was a problem (after 8.5 years), they fixed it, no problem, no charge.

Gyms are very very touchy about this. My BIL is a trainer. When he and my sister put me on their membership on their "home" gym G gave me all sorts of instructions but not on premises. I needed to pay for a session with a staff trainer to be shown exactly how to use the machines, how to correctly on the floor exercises, etc.

This is their profit center. They don't exist on dues.

G works at a different gym.

People don't talk much at my gym except in the lounge area

I don't doubt this, but in this particular instance where the woman was with her son, to cancel her membership was more hurtful to the gym. That was just idiotic. It would have been better if they approached her about signing up for some personal training and, since there's 2, at a discount rate.

I would not be surprised at all if they're having money problems if that's how they run their business.

I find that a lot of companies like this don't understand the importance of customer service and communication. The managers are poorly trained in many franchises and they don't understand (nor do they care) how their actions can go viral and affect the reputation of the parent company.

This could have all been avoided if they had just talked to her and explained their policy more clearly.

Sure they could have notified her first but it still would have made the tabloids. There is a strong "look at me" tone to the article and photos. Corporate had not responded but it would not surprise me if their version was somewhat different and she had been warned before revocation. Corporate PR types try very hard not to blame the consumer/"victim" regardless of circumstances.

The article had pictures. Those would not have been take at LA Fitness. My gym prohibits cameras and discourage the phone/text aspect of smartphones .

From this I figure that there is something of a set up, a photo shoot by Yahoo or whoever the original source is ( probably Daily Mail. It has their flavor).

Eh, its better than artless about ( always cute) teachers having sex with their students.

The policy is irrelevant in this case. The policy is to prohibit people from hiring trainers who don't work for the gym. Makes perfect sense. The kid did not hire his mother. If i go to the gym with a friend and one of us gives the other pointers or help on a particular machine, that is not a violation of their policy.

And this schmuck who git tgem booted, hiw does he think that protects his income in any way? All he did was boot 2 paying customers who are now due a refund for the remainder of the year. Likely a few hundred dollars
