At our private school, dress/grooming code was a huge deal. Parents and students were well aware of what was allowed and what wasn't. That was the most important part of the handbook because violations meant that you were sent home, which was a big hassle for everyone.<quoted text>You're saying this as if she knew it was against the rules and cut it off anyway. I'm guessing she was not even aware that bald heads were against the rules until she showed up that way. Really. She's 9. You think a 9 year old reads the code of conduct from front to back? I would be surprised if her parents gave it more than a cursory glance at the start of the school year.
Not to say that it was right not to immediately allow for an exception (at least one article I read said that exceptions were left to the school's discretion), but I don't believe that the parents and the student were ignorant of the no buzz cuts rule.
