The buffalo was actually pretty good, the rest, eh... not so much
Bison burgers rock. And better for you than beef too; less fat.

Ahh, the land of Lincoln. The poster child of a free America. Just what Americans want: more government intervention!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-i...

"Supporters say Illinois' medical marijuana law is among the toughest in the nation."

"Public schools that teach sex education will now be required to provide students information about birth control"

"a judge could hand down fines of up $1,500 and jail sentences of up to six months to dog owners who don't follow new rules on how to properly tether their pet outside. A dog's lead must be at least 10 feet and cannot exceed one-eighth of the animal's body weight. It also must be attached to a harness or collar that does not pinch or choke the dog. Tethered dogs must be provided adequate food, water and shelter and be restricted from being able to reach someone else's property or a public sidewalk or road."

"Illinois teens under age 18 will no longer be allowed to use tanning beds, even if they have permission from a parent."

"Those under 18 also will be banned from buying electronic cigarettes. Meanwhile, smokers of traditional cigarettes could face fines of up to $1,500 and up to six months in jail for not properly disposing of butts"

FREEDOM!

I couldn't bring myself to order bison when in MN.
My palette is so picky and I am very finicky about my sirloin.

The HUGE porkchop at Mission American on 7th...yum!

My bro is down here visiting. We went out Saturday night ... spur of the moment. He wanted to shoot some pool. So we went to try a new place. Parked in a parking lot behind all these bars and walked in the back door. Instead of going to the place we wanted to go to, we went to a death metal club, with live music, but we didn't realize until after we paid cover.

I was so not dressed for a death metal venue with a gray polo hoodie and a yellow lucky shirt with a German heraldry eagle on it. Everyone ... I mean everyone ... was all goth and wearing black. I stuck out like a sore thumb. It was so funny.

We stayed for a few beers anyway. Music sucked, tho.

Hi, Ang! I've been off-line a few days. I hope you get to go home as planned and that you get some respite from all of this for some time. I can't imagine how exhausted and "over it" you must be feeling right now. Sending hugs and positive thoughts!

Thank you so much.

I just showered (with non sexy assistance) and that helped me feel better.

That's a first step.

Are you allowed any booze at this point? Will you be able to see in the new year with a toast?

My 83 year old father had a knee replacement and has been in a nursing rehab center for the last 3 weeks. The center is having a new years party ( from 6-8,but still), but no booze. Even though it is not an old people's home per se there are a lot of stroke people, and long post surgical people and old people there.... just waiting

We are going to spring him for lunch and let hm have french fried onion rings ( with salt) and a cheeseburger from Hackney's

I am allowed to have booze, but (1) my pain reliever of choice right now is Tylenol (so no booze), and (2) I have zero desire to drink.

Damn meds! Eh, you're not missing much. You've done that all before, I'm sure.

rings?!?! we call it the onion loaf, and leave out the adjective "glistening"... we had fun one time trying to explain it to SIL when my gramma & her sibs took us there. SIL's expression was priceless when she first saw it...

good luck with your adventure tomorrow!
