The 1.9 will be just fine for your use. With the things you are using it for, you probably wouldn't even notice a difference between the two.<quoted text>
Thanks for answering Sub! That was my error... the first laptop is 1.9 ghz (not 1.0). They are both dual core, Windows 7 (I am trying to get a Windows 7 before I get stuck with Windows 8 - I've heard nothing good about 8). They both have 500GB SATA hard drive and 4GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory . There is about $45 in price difference.
Not sure if it is an option, but if you can, I would get the 1.9 ghz and would up the RAM to 8 GB, even if it eats the $45 cost savings. I'd much rather have a 1.9 ghz dual core with 8 GB of RAM than a 2.2 ghz dual core with 4 GB of RAM.
For your use, 4GB of RAM will be just fine for now, but in 2-4 years, you might wish you had more RAM.
