Suck up much? Is it okay to make fun of beer drinking, bald, overweight rednecks? How about unemployed middle-age fat women suckling on the taxpayers teat to earn a worthless degree in pointless major?
Are you talking about me, sweetheart?

So -- who is surprised that a bunch of science geeks from MIT found a way to make real life lightsabers? Ones that are like Star Wars lightsabers?

That's probably the kind of thing that got them to go after science in the first place!

http://gizmodo.com/scientists-created-a-new-f... @jesusdiaz

So I think it's pretty cool they figured this out and are on the road to real lightsabers.

Does that make me a geek, too?

Okay -- I'd like to think that I would turn them over to the authorities, but I'm not so sure I would have like this young man.

I never took typing. There were almost all girls in that class and in the mid 1960's if you took typing you were on a career path in which I was not interested. My fine motor coordination has never been very good.Just ask my piano teacher.

I took mechanical drawing. There were no other girls in that class, it better suited my visual spatial skills and it seemed like a useful skill for what I thought at the time I wanted to be when I grew up.

As things turned out, I should have taken typing. In 1965 , who knew?

Forsooth, thou understandth that?

You're the first one I've heard of mentioning mechanical drawing. My mother told me I should take that but did the business courses instead. I should have listened. Later years I tested higher in the spatial skills then anything else. And I got kicked out of shorthand for talking to a friend too much and put into Speech class...

Well, here goes the girls...I hope I get it right this time.
