I remember reading articles that said (and I forget which tribes or teams were involved) But basically they were for keeping the names. They did not find any offense and felt it promoted their heritage in a positive way.

This is probably a small group of Native Americans with a lawyer looking to make a name for themselves. Kinda like insisting braille be put on the keys of the ATM.

And before anybody gets all high and mighty about the blind needing it, let me ask you when have you EVER seen a blind person using an atm? I know blind folk and they always have a sighted person with them, always!

I always wondered about the braille sign next to the elevator saying what floor it is. How will they know where the sign is so they can read the braille?

Braille at drive-up ATM's. That's even funnier.

Many blind people get a lot of training so they can be more mobile. They can be incredibly intuitive when it comes to getting around. When I worked at a county building the cafeteria cashier was blind and let me tell you he knew his paper money. People were honest also and told him the face amount.

They know about where the sign is and can then search it. That goes for the ATM. As far as I'm concerned the braille on an ATM is not interfering with my use so what's the big deal. Maybe Race hasn't seen anyone using that and neither have I, but I'm not in a big city environment on a daily basis so I'm going to assume that it is used from time to time.

Yes, I have seen blind people use the ATM. But I do live in Chicago and the Lighthouse for the Blind is in the City and we have a blind person working where I work. The Lighthouse is an extremely reputable and helpful charity for the blind that teaches the blind among other things.

Now, I agree that isn't needed but I'm thinking they don't make 2 kinds of ATMs so they just install one and probably all of them have braille.

Not that it bothers me in the least. But I always wondered because the elevator signs aren't always in the same place. Could be on the left, right straight ahead and across from teh elevator...

I think they should keep the name. The intent is not to be demeaning.

I saw the one comment that was something to the effect of: I'm white and demand that Cracker Barrel stop using the word Cracker.

My neighbor, Mitch, is blind. He burned his fingers yesterday trying to read the waffle iron.

Mitch- my neighbor- borrowed $20 from me. He said he'd pay me back next time he saw me.

They met on a blind date!

Why don't blind people skydive?

It scares the hell out of the dog!

How did the blind woman drive herself crazy?

She was trying to read a stucco wall!

But anyway, I can't see the big deal about braille ATM machines..

I remember when Eddie Murphy did a standup routine, talking about young Stevie Wonder getting cheated, by not knowing if he was getting paid with ones or hundreds....lol....
