Oh my freaking god:
SAND SPRINGS, Okla. A Tulsa man remained jailed Monday on a peeping Tom complaint after authorities discovered him inside a septic tank beneath a women's bathroom at a Sand Springs water park.
Kenneth Enslow, 52, was arrested Sunday after a woman called police. She had taken her 7-year-old daughter to the bathroom and noticed a man looking up at her from inside the toilet, Tulsa County Sheriff's Maj. Shannon Clark said.
"He went in there, climbed down in the septic and was looking up at the people utilizing that facility," Clark said.
Enslow, who was covered in human waste, was helped from the septic tank by members of the Keystone Fire Department, who sprayed him off with a fire hose and then transported to a hospital for evaluation, according to a sheriff's report.
Court and jail records do not indicate if Enslow has an attorney.
Enslow told police that a woman hit him in the head with a tire iron and dumped him in the toilet, according to the report.
But Clark said: "There were no injuries consistent with that."
Enslow remained jailed on a felony warrant from Okmulgee County related to a 1998 embezzlement case, court records show.
A formal arraignment in the peeping Tom case is scheduled for July 15.
My 7 y.o. would never want to go to the bathroom again, heck,*I* might never want to go to the bathroom again if I saw a face looking up at me.

Tell them if they cant offer encouragement or compassion then to hold their tongue until they walk a mile in her shoes.

now to get the girls to have a wee bit of insight and compassion for her... the younger one comes home from a 2 week trip abroad and lights into SIL about "did you use while i was gone" and the older one piles it on. but they're not open to the possibility of listening or trying to undestand...

sad thing is, i don't htink that will work either... they had a session with SILs counselor, and what the counselor said didn't make a damn bit of difference. they're still in their own little worlds. so, SIL is stuck with the only reasonable option of leaving when they put too much pressure on her, which pisses off the girls and makes them even more suspicious. <Sigh>

I'm about to sit them down one at a time and try to play the Auntie card and go over some of the "there but for the grace of god go i" stuff, but hubby says they're just not open to hearing any of that, let alone listening...

i think that part of the problem goes way back... not that the girls were spoiled, but SIL did an awful lot for the family given the limited means, and an awful lot for almost everyone else and not for herself. so now that SIL has had a crisis and needs to take care of herself first and foremost, i think teh girls kinda can't handle taht... <shrug> tired of it and for SIL getting beat (figuratively) up on by everyone else...

Ever pass out in the john?

A hard drinking buddy of mine has told me that has happened to him.

That is a possible explanation for the mechanics of how he got in there.

Still, YUKK!!

Pass out? NO. But I have slept on the bathroom floor to save myself the bother of getting out of bed to puke. That all happened in my younger days while working my up to the big leagues.
You live, you learn.

Ah yes, summer of 1969, Champaign Urbana, the cool feel of white tile floor on my fevered head in between bouts of worshiping the porcelain god. One more reason I don't drink much beer any more.

And now for something completely different...

An engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates. St. Peter checks his dossier and says, "Ah, you're an engineer. You are in the wrong place."

So, the engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in. Pretty soon, the engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and the engineer is a pretty popular guy.

One day, God calls Satan up on the telephone and says with a sneer, "So, how's it going down there in hell?"

Satan replies, "Hey, things are going great. We've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next."

God replies, "What? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake. He should never have gotten down there; send him up here."

Satan says, "No way." I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him."

God says, "Send him back up here or I'll sue."

Satan laughs uproariously and answers, "Yeah, right. And just where are you going to get a lawyer?"

And yet edog refuses to believe me when I say that you can be fired simply for being gay -- in most states: I got this from the Human RIghts Campaign:

Kimya has a Master's degree and almost two decades of experience as a social worker. She was an upstanding employee at a long-term care facility in Michigan, where she looked after patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. Like many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, she faced slurs and harassment at work but she still loved her job.

Then one day, out of nowhere, she was fired. Her bosses actually told her, "This would not be happening if you were not a lesbian."

In 29 states, no state law protects workers like Kimya from being called into a boss's office and getting handed a pink slip for no other reason than their sexual orientation. The same is true in 33 states for transgender employees. There's still no federal law to prevent this damaging discrimination.

Boo hoo, in most states you can be fired for no reason at all. And even supposing they pass a law and make homosexuality a protected handicap, they'll just be fired for some other bs reason if the employer doesn't want them there.

"The shackles ne'er again shall bind the arm which is now free" George W Patten

There is no final battle in the fight for Freedom. The struggle continues as long as there are enemies
who seek to subvert our minds and destroy our ideals.
Our enemies" strongest allies can be our own indifference of spirit.
Weakness of will and compromise of principle. On Freedom's side,
Stand the enduring strength of our forefathers; a steadfast
faith in our way of life, and a firm resolve to defend it.
Let our convictions remain strong and our purpose firm,
so we may pass on to our children both the fruits of Freedom,
and the will to preserve it.
Our Destiny is in our own hands!

Wake up America your freedom is slipping away!

Yes it is. In Illinois the standard is that an at will( meaning non-union) employee can be fired for any reason or no reason at all as long as it is not a discriminatory reason.

Discriminatory means the person fired is in a specifically protected group.

As far as I am ware most states have a similar standard. Certainly te ones in the Midwest do.

Check with your HR person. This is probably in bold letters in Chapter 3 , right after Though shalt not ask virginity status in the job interview( a question actually posed to my sister some years ago when interviewing for an engineers position) and Thous shalt pay the employees for the time they work.
