Tell me you are not posting on Topix from the bathroom... with a cyclone outside. Please tell me that.
No, but I did go upstairs and grab my tablet before I went to the bathroom. This thing happened so fast, we never actually all got in and closed the door. Though my tablet is still in there in the cabinet.

When Hurricane Charlie cam thru here in 2004, it cause millions in damage to the area. But it only knocked down 3 of my fence panels(sent one flying over the roof) and snapped 1 fence post. We were driving home about 2 hours ago when the national weather alert came on the radio. Tornado warnings for the area. Within 20 minutes of being home my wife screamed for everyone to get in the bathroom(safe room if you will). Thought she saw the makings of a tornado. We were already seeing some tremendous wind and rain out the back. I looked out the back, ad half our fence is gone. Not blown away, but knocked down. Posts that we have concreted into the ground, snapped. At least 7. Maybe more. Hopefully insurance will cover that. Daddy needs a new fence.
Glad you are safe. That's scary to sit through, even if you remain physically unscathed.

I read this too quickly and first thought you wrote that you were going home to feed the gator.

Happy Sunday night. Where did my weekend go? I was a useless slug most of the weekend until 4 p.m. today then I kicked it into high gear and prepped salad and stuff for the week, did dishes, took out the garbage, put laundry away. now I wish I'd done this yesterday or this morning.

I think I turn procrastination into an art form.

It literally happened so fast that there was no time to get scared(at least not me and the kids). I was downstairs with my son looking out the back window at the tremendous wind and rain. Then my wife stated screaming for everyone to get to the downstairs bathroom(only completely interior room downstairs). They got in the bathroom and I rounded up the dogs. Since my understanding is that a tornado sounds like a train, and I didn't hear no train, I ran upstairs and got the tablet. Before I could make it back downstairs my wife yelled up to me that the fence had been knocked down. And by then, it was already lightening up.

The reason she started screaming to get in the bathroom is cause she was upstairs and looked out a window and saw some swirling wind that she thought might be the forming of a tornado and THAT scared her. But all told, from the time she started screaming to the time I was coming back downstairs when she said the fence as down, was about 3-4 minutes.

It's just astounding how fast it came and went!

My coworker is a storm chaser and I think she's nuts!

<quoted text>Not sure if I said this to you before. Something sort of good has come out you and Jasper breaking up.

My CA daughter and bf (of about 1 1/2 years) broke up about a month ago. Listening to the path you are traveling has helped me respond to her. I know the scale and intensity is different, but I met my husband in 1981 and there is a lot I have forgotten and a lot that has changed in 32 years. So , 26 year old in SF is unknowingly reaping some benefit.

Thank you for sharing.
Wow... Thanks for the feedback. And yeah, things happen for a reason.

API don't remember if I told you guys about the guy I met watching the playoffs one night in January. Hadn't seen him since but we've texted here and there. I spent the whole afternoon and evening with him and did not freak out. Progress!

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt?

We find ourselves at a loss when someone says,'You don't knowJack Schitt!'

Well, thanks to genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way.

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt.

Awe Schitt was married to O. Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, and owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout.

After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt-Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition who was nick-named Chicken Schitt.

Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony.

The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials.

The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world.

He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride,Pisa Schitt.

Now when someone says,'You don't know Jack Schitt,' you can correct them.

Sincerely,

Crock O. Schitt

Very true! And the effort is to be more social in general and to make new friends. I'm sure I'll still continue to have "moments" and I'll surely screw some stuff up along the way, but I'm trying like heck to LEARN about myself and about life.

GUy at work is getting a divorce. I have never liked his wife -- she is rather unlikeable. Now it turns out, HER FRIENDS are coming to him to tell him that she has told them for yeras that she has planned this all along -- waiting until his first two (from another relationship) are done getting child support (they're in college now). Planned to divorce him and get child support and alimony.

Planned all along when she was "too sick" to work (despite having a college degree and being a licensed chiro) and stayed home to home school the kids. She PLANNED it to help her case for when she filed for divorce.

She PLANNED this when they got married -- to have two kids, be "too sick" to work so she'd establish that she stays home which makes him more likely to be on the hook for alimony.

I have disliked her from the first 20 minutes I spent with her and now I hate her guts. Their kids are 7 (twins) and they LOVE their dad, you should see them around him. That fucking bitch.

And she's trying to get the house. THe house he owned before she came along.

Great weekend. Last local game for our pro hockey team, which they lost, but it was a fun season. I got a little tipsy (whaaaaat?).

Then, Sunday, in my game, I *finally* scored a goal! I've scored them in pickup games and such here and there, and I've gotten assists out the wazoo, but never when anyone is actually keeping score. I totally screamed like a girl and they gave me the game puck. Ha!

Jam, it's awesome the progress you're making. I've only had one major breakup, and that was key. I had gotten a new job a couple weeks after, so I was meeting all kinds of new people and being invited out and stuff. Helped a lot.

Wilma took out 3 posts along my fence. Snapped right at the ground. In fact, the telephone poles along the street were all snapped as well, but all about 3ft above the ground.

Glad you are safe. If the bathroom a real safe room, or just the most interior room?
