It's better to avert attention than face problems head on.
I said FAT rich white man 'cause really, when have you ever seen a fat rich black Republican?

But that's the last comment I'm making using this effing phone.

So it was liberals who put amendments on the ballot to ban gay marriage just so they could demonize conservatives?

Right. And since they don't control them all they won't bring up a constitutional amendment to ban abortion.
The point of my comment was that they controlled them all in the past (circa 80s, 90s?) And there was still never a constitutional amendment.

Maybe it was conservatives who put amendments on the ballot allowing gay marriage just so they could demonize liberals?

Ha!

And I love the autocorrect - I figured The Simpsons were really using that name.

The story about Manti Teo's girlfriend dying in a crash is apparently a hoax.

Manti Fairplay, anyone?

Notre Dame AD claijs Teo was duped in a catfishing scam. I had to google that one. Never heard of the movie or the tv show.

Stewart Mandel tweeted this and I agree.

Do you and your liberal friends support or oppose Obama's new stricter gun policies?
Would you be willing to speak out in criticism of your president?
(I rarely hear of criticism from the left, and when they do (Juan Williams) they get fired.) So I would really be interested to hear of liberals who oppose some of the president's agendas.
I haven't talked about gun control lately, since the shooting, with my friends. I'm opposed to most new gun laws, because I don't think they'll make any difference.

And Obama can't do much from his position re: gun control. With an executive order, the most he can do is impose mandatory waiting periods and other things like that, but he cannot change people's right to own to guns. He doesn't have the legal authority.

And it's very nice of you to take the views of the extreme right and impute that to all republicans. Do you really believe most republican candidates would even want to deny the woman the right to an abortion in the case of rape? That sort of speak only comes from the far right Reich-tards.
And yet they get voted into office. We have republicans in office who want to ban all abortion, including when the mother's life is in danger.

You say that the women you know wouldn't have an abortion, but you don't know that. No woman can even say "I will never have an abortion." Until a woman has been in that situation and is told "If we don't abort, then this pregnancy likely will kill you," she doesn't know what she will do.

I just googled it too, never heard of it either.

I agree with the tweet but I don't necessarily believe that the kid was scammed... I think there's a decent chance he was in on it to generate PR and sympathy and glory and all that.

I saw some stuff on line this morning, some investigative googling by some dude chasing the story, and its starting to sway me to the side of him being dumb, not complicit.

The sticking point for me is I while I can understand people having online only friends that they've never met or seen(hello imaginary friends), I cannot go the extra step to beleiving that anyone could consider someone they've never met to be their girlfriend. That does not compute.

Again, that is an extreme view and not the stance of the Republican party. There are liberals in office who wish to ban all guns. And tobacco. So is it fair to say that is a stance the Democrat party holds?

Republicans are pro life. Not because they hate women, but because they are opposed to the slaughter of innocent babies. I know, how horrible. Yet, even when we had a Republican president, House, and Senate, and a Republican dominated Supreme Court, there was never an amendment to ban abortion. The fears that squishy and people like her have are unfounded and irrational and not based on facts.

There are too many misconceptions about Republicans and they need to launch a campaign to get people educated if they want to win over the younger voters and regain control. Fact is, liberals have taken more of our freedoms than conservatives ever wish to. People need to understand.

Same here, but it's not uncommon. Heck, there's a trend of young people on FB being "married" to another friend on FB... but they're not even dating.

Certain segments of the republican party play right into it, but yes, I COMPLETELY agree, democrats love it when one of these idiots start yapping about this stuff, because it distracts from the more serious issues our country faces and avoids serious discussions about them.

Why have a serious discussion about debt, with some women, when you can play the emotional card and completely win them over by talking about how some extremist Republicans are out their talking about legitimate rape, rape being an act of god, and how a woman is a sl ut for wanting to use birth control? So many women lap it up too. Really, maybe they should ask themselves how many men, republican, independent, democrat, or not, who have wives, sisters, a female friends view women in this manner. How representative is this? It's not. These aren't conservative values ... these are values of nut jobs and idiots, who just happen to be conservative.

Fortunately, the women I know are intelligent enough to realize these jack a$ses are just that, not mainstream, and they aren't going to fall for the democrats tactic of focusing on these things rather than the more serious issues. It's almost insulting that they think all women are so dumb and are just going to vote exclusively based on "team women", issues.
